Announcement (Toru Nakagawa, Aug. 1, 2012)

The "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" Foundation (Editor: Toru Nakagawa) is going to present its Award to Professor Denis Cavallucci for appreciating and thanking for his many years of contributions to TRIZ.

The "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" Foundation was established in 2009 .  The present Web site "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" was established voluntarily on November 1, 1998 as a public Web site for information exchange for better understanding and usage of TRIZ.  Since then for nearly 14 years, the "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" has posted a large number of articles and papers useful for promoting the penetration and application of TRIZ, thanks to the contributions and supports by many authors and readers in Japan and in the World.  So in 2009 I deposited a part of the income obtained from my activities based on the present Web site to the Foundation for utilizing it for the purpose of further penetration and development of TRIZ in Japan and in the World.

Since then the Foundation presented its Award to the following three TRIZ leaders for their contributions to TRIZ:

First year (Sept. 2009):      Mr. Darrell L. Mann (UK).
Second year (Sept. 2010):   Dr. Nikolai Khomenko (Canada).   [Note: Dr. Khomenko passed away in Mar. 2011, to our sorrow.]
Third year (Sept. 2011):     Dr. Simon Litvin (USA) .

Thus this is the fourth year for the Foundation to present its Award to a TRIZ leader in the World.

Profile of Professor Denis Cavallucci will be poster later; here I would like to introduce him briefly:

Dr. Cavallucci has been working for TRIZ as Associate Professor of INSA Strasbourg (i.e., Graduate School of Applied Science and Technology at Strasbourg), and was promoted to Full Professor this year in June.

In 2001, he was one of the five founding leaders of the European TRIZ Association (ETRIA).  The five leaders were: Darrell Mann (UK), Denis Cavallucci (France), Valeri Souchkov (The Netherlands), Simon Dewulf (Belgium), and Pavel Livotov (Germany).  From 2003 to 2005, he served as the President of ETRIA.

INSA Strasbourg has established Graduate Course of Advanced Master's Degree specialized in TRIZ; such a course is unique in the Western world at moment.  The Course invited (late) Dr. Nikolai Khomenko as the advisor and promoted research and education of TRIZ and OTSM-TRIZ.  The course has already produced several PhD's.

"TRIZ World Survey" is remarkable as Dr. Cavallucci's recent work.  He organized an inquiry-based survey of actual TRIZ situations in different countries and reported the overall view in Nov. 2009.  He also tried to build 'TRIZ Ontology', which is going to represent semantic relationships of various TRIZ concepts.

Dr. Cavallucci has recently developed IDM (Inventive Design Method) which can be introduced smoothly in the common R&D processes of product development, etc.   He has built a software tool (named STEPS) installing the IDM.

In the 8th TRIZ Symposium 2012, he is going to give a Keynote Lecture and an Advanced Seminar for net 5 hours on IDM and STEPS.

On the second day evening of the Symposium, a brief ceremony of the Award Presentation will be held during the Buffet Dinner and Communication.   The "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" Foundation is happy to serve for the promotion of TRIZ.
