Bartosz Pryda (Poland) ==> Toru Nakagawa   Sept. 30, 2016

Dear Prof. Toru Nakagawa,
Thank you for your message. I am happy to see TRIZ dissemination worldwide.

Toru Nakagawa ==> Ed Sickafus (USA) Oct. 11, 2016

Dear Ed, I received an email from Mr. Wayne Mallinson, who wants to access with you urgently. I am transferring his mail to you via email. [not included here.]
Hope this email find you well and without any more PC trouble.
Best wishes, Toru

Ed Sickafus (USA) ==> Wayne Mallison,  CC: Toru Nakagawa   Oct. 11, 2016

Dear Mr. Mallison, I'm sorry to learn of your difficulties in our making contact. It is totally my fault and I apologize for your troubles.
I have been an inactive user of Linckedin for some years, hence the connection problems there. I find direct emails more useful.

Furthermore, I have had several bad encounters with hackers on my website and emails, which have made me suspicious of all mailers I don't recognize. Sometimes, to my loss, I don't open these.

Another issue I should mention is that, as a result of my age, I'm planning to shut down my website -- nothing specific yet.

So much for excuses. Please accept my apologies and contact me at  **** [Not shown here].

I look forward to meeting you,  Ed

Radical Enumerative Thinking and Contradiction of Unity for World View, the Way of Life and the Future of Human Being (Toshio Takahara) ; Letters from Readers (Aug. - Oct., 2016); News: TRIZCON2017 will be held on Apr. 4-6, 2017 at Las Vegas

Teemu Toivonen (Finland) ==> Toru Nakagawa   Oct. 27, 2016

Thank you again for your inspiring presentation. After listening to your presentation I thought the conflict you presented might have a link to the research done on the development of human value systems by Clare Graves.

In case you find this interesting, here is a few sources of information

Toru Nakagawa ==> Teemu Toivonen    Nov. 11, 2016

It was nice to meet you at ETRIA TFC2016.  Thank you for your message and am sorry to be late in response.

I once read brief introduction of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) in Darrell Mann's textbook (HOSI) and some part of "Spiral Dynamics: Mastering values, leadership, and change" (by D.E. Beck and C.C. Cowan), but I do not understand them, to my regret.

I will be happy to hear your thoughts.       Best wishes, Toru

Min-Gyu Lee (South Korea) ==> Toru Nakagawa   Oct. 30, 2016            TRIZ Activities in Korea

It was nice to meet you in TFC2016.  And it is impressive to see that many retired professors continue to study and contribute to TRIZ society following their curiosity and belief.  Especially your research about addressing the problem of poor life of elder generation expanding TRIZ to social and human sciences and activities.

According to our discussions, I give you several pieces of information of your interest.

(1)  KATA has changed its name to 韓國創意應用學會 (한국창의응용학회), a draft English name is Korean Society of Creative Application (KOSCA).   The 2nd President of KATA = the 1st President of KOSCA is a Retired Professor of KAIST (in Mech. Eng.) named Dong-Yol Yang. - https://college.gist.ac.kr/profile_en/gen/basic_ydy.html
They are still using their old homepage of KATA ( http://www.katatriz.or.kr/ )

After the last Korean TRIZ Festival in Jan 2016, They will open a new conference (the 1st 韓國創意應用學會 ) in 18th of November.   They already (almost) finished collecting Abstracts and will collect a 1~2 page summary of full paper until 2nd of November and the Presentation until 10th of November.   As the name of the society implies it seems to be a conference for Koreans only, I guess.   You can ask the possibility of Foreigners Participation (which I doubt for this time) or any future plan to continue the Global TRIZ conference in next years to the president.

(2)  I also give my presentation file (which you asked if my memory is correct) and full paper about my improved version of Function Analysis, named FA+

(3)  Could you give me your presentation files ?

(4)  One news about the company where I work, GEN3 Korea Innovation Consulting, we changed our name to QM&E Innovation.   We are a subsidiary of QM&E consulting group (with 40 full time consultants in Quality, Management & Engineering etc).   QM&E Innovation continue to be the biggest and the strongest TRIZ consulting firm in Korea with 2 Russian TRIZ Masters (Vasily Lenyashin and Yury Danilovskiy) and 4 Korean TRIZ & Innovation Consultants with more than 20 years of experience.

  Toru Nakagawa ==> Min-Gyu Lee    Nov. 11, 2016

Thank you again for your valuable information in your mail of Oct. 30.

Evolution of TRIZ in your country, South Korea, is of much interest to all people in the global TRIZ Community.

I looked at your presentation slides quickly and found it interesting, and missed in attending at your presentation.

I am sending you my presentation file.

I am going to update my site in a couple of days, and would like to post your communication in the "Letters from Readers" page.   Is it OK?

Best wishes, Toru

Dana Clark (USA) ==> Toru Nakagawa   Oct. 31, 2016       on 'Liberty vs. Love'

Please contact me by email and kindly send me a copy of your presentation. I am looking forward to looking at it in detail and discussing how we might work together.

Toru Nakagawa ==> Dana Clark    Oct. 31, 2016

It was so nice to meet you again. I am sending you my ppt file of the presentation.
Best wishes, Toru

Czesław CEMPEL(Poland) ==> Toru Nakagawa   Nov. 5, 2016       on the Low-Living Elderly and visualization

Welcome professor Nakagawa
I am very glad to hear from my young friend, Ms. Kijewska, that you have visited Poland, Wrocław at the occasion of TRIZ conference. She was overwhelmed of your mood, presence, and especially of your paper.

The same is with me, as I read the paper. Yes, LLE is going to be more and more important, this is the real problem of humanity.  In our previous socialist system up to 1990 it does not exist.  But after that, when freedom come to Poland, freedom to Western enterprises and industry, there is more and more LLE.  How to solve this problem, I do not know as our so called democratic governments do not identify this problem.  In my opinion they are residents of Western powers, nothing more.  But stop with complaining, it does not bring positive effect, if so, gives negative one.
Going to the poverty problems of our world, I think much worst problem have 4 milliards people  living for 2 US$ daily.  How to help them, if we know from the other side, that our World is overcrowded?
But I am sorry, let us go to your paper.  Yes your perception of human culture contradiction is right; liberty versus love! How to overcome this contradiction, not in theory but in practice?

I am also excited to learn, that there is a software; Fuda-Yose Tool to make graphical abstract of the paper, and of the book of course.   Your nation is most innovative nation of the world, as I am usually telling this to our PhD students.
Finally professor Nakagawa, is that possible to send me by email your reference No 7.  I will be much obliged.

With many thanks and greeting,  czesław

[Prof. Cempel, This mail to you has been blocked and I cannot fix the trouble yet. Toru (Nov. 11, 2016)]

Dear Professor Czeslaw Cempel, Thank you very much for your message.

This was my first visit to Poland and I found beautiful cities of Warszawa and Wroclaw, and the Peace Church at Jawor. The conference and people were also nice.

Thank you for your comment on my work.

Thank you very much for the interesting pictures.
I understand that the groups of people from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan visited your school/company in Germany. Could you please kindly advise the groups to contribute some communications on the TRIZ introduction/activities in their countries? I would very much like to post them in my Web site "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".
Best wishes, Toru

Michael Orloff ==> Toru Nakagawa     Nov. 12, 2016

Dear Toru, thank you for your response.

As a rule I am mentioning your name at my lecturing as one of real investigator of practical industrial creativity based mainly on USIT. I highly appreciate your way of scientific work as real gold digger – step-by-step in one important direction.

I do similar work – persistently and sequentially, and without looking at my troubles and commercial inactivity or-and losses. I am working for the theory of inventive thinking. My general idea is not a simplification of TRIZ but real structuring the TRIZ as the deepest concept for development of systematic creative modeling for design thinking.
So, my thoughts are about educational and executive application of well-structured TRIZ named by me as Modern TRIZ.

After pointing my way orientation I would like to add that it would be very interesting to disseminate some integrated approach as combination of MTRIZ-formatting and modeling with alternative (as brainstorming) and auxiliary or broadening (as USIT) approaches. This is similar to including the core into the shell to adapt the tools and methodology (refined TRIZ) for practical applications.

I would be very grateful you for continuation of communication and will be interested to support your activity in joint direction as TRIZ promotion.
With great respect, Michael

Thanks for your update on your important work in expanding the use of TRIZ for social issues.

Sergey Sobolev (Russia) ==> Toru Nakagawa     Nov. 17, 2016

I was thinking about your work "Liberty vs. Love" and TRIZ application for social problems solving. I see some relevance to what Bob Johansen considers in his book "Leaders Make the Future: Ten New Leadership Skills for an Uncertain World", he highlights difference between problems and dilemmas - the latter cannot be solved, by definition it's unsolvable challenge. In business he proposes to approach dilemmas as opportunities.
What do you think about possibility that there is no solution for the cases you're considering?

Toru Nakagawa ==> Valeri Souchkov (The Netherlands)    Nov. 16, 2016

It was nice to meet you again at ETRIA TFC2016.
As I told you there, I am under the way of translating your article into Japanese for myself: "Breakthrough Thinking with TRIZ for Business and Management: An Overview"

Do you have any handy software tool for drawing the RCA+ diagrams?

Valeri Souchkov ==> Toru Nakagawa     Nov. 18, 2016

It was a great pleasure to meet you too in Wroclaw!

Last week I visited the TRIZ conference in Moscow (it was Russian language only), and was impressed by the number of participants: over 350. I made a keynote on modern TRIZ in the world, now my paper is being translated to English. I will send it to you as soon as it is ready.

RCA+ diagram was originally made in Powerpoint. For building RCA+ diagrams I use yEd graph editor - its full version is free and available for many platforms. Makes it easy to share and edit RCA+ diagrams with my customers and colleagues: http://www.yworks.com/products/yed

Toru Nakagawa ==> Valeri Souchkov    Nov. 18, 2016

Thank you very much. All your information is valuable. Nice to hear that Russian TRIZ Conference has over 350 participants.

I am much interested in your Keynote. Reviewing modern TRIZ in the world is most productive for the global TRIZ community to get power for promoting it further, instead of counting the decrease of TRIZ popularity.

I have downloaded the yEd graph editor. Its introductory video in the home page is very impressive.
Thank you so much!

Valeri Souchkov ==> Toru Nakagawa     Nov. 18, 2016

By the way, there is no decrease of TRIZ popularity. The statistics shown in the paper of O. Abramov is not really valid due to a choice of a country where the search was performed (Russia).

There are other factors as well. In addition, the decrease of invitation of Russian TRIZ experts to Korea does not mean a drop of TRIZ popularity - Korea have already accumulated a lot of their own TRIZ power which became self-sufficient. For example, my training business is running up logarithmically last several years - and it is not just Europe, I train all around the world as well as my accredited trainers. So I have a slightly different opinion.

What is true, that popularity of TRIZ dropped in the USA - but the core problem here is that the TRIZ community did not manage to establish proper training and implementation there. The entry barrier in the USA is really high, and they used to spend time in other countries.

Regarding yEd, it is extremely good software. You can create your own set of icons or use a template. I do not have an updated template, I just use a blank RCA+ (attached), then copy and paste.

Czeslaw CEMPEL (Poland) ==> Toru Nakagawa     Nov. 19, 2016

Thank you very much for your nice and very informative mail. ... I have got your reference and study it a little, but I think more time is needed.

Concerning your TRIZ paper I have a question, Does it change the meaning of contradiction when using the word freedom instead of liberty? So we will have contradiction; Economic Freedom versus love. Does it change the semantics? Maybe a little. With many thanks for your kindness

Czeslaw CEMPEL ==> Toru Nakagawa     Nov. 25, 2016

.... I am writing also due to discussion with my colleague concerning democracy, or its lack in Poland. He has mention with this respect some other human culture contradiction, namely; freedom versus equality. In my opinion it is the same calibre as your contradiction; liberty versus love. And I wonder what it is your opinion on this subject. With many thanks yours

Toru Nakagawa ==>   Czeslaw CEMPEL    Dec. 26, 2016

I am very sorry for not replying you much earlier.  In early Dember I conducted a 3-day workshop on CrePS/USIT in Taiwan, for my first time in English.  I am going to update my homepage in a day or two both in English and in Japanese.

Last month I read a book written by Yusuke Kasuya discussing the modern history of democracy with the slogan of 'Liberty, Equality, and Love'.  In French Revolution, Liberty and Equality came first and Love became officially included later by about 60 years.

I have a different thought:  Equality is a basic part of Fundamental Human Rights, and the latter is a basic part of Ethics. Ethics (including Fundamental Human Rights and Equality) should form the basis for motivating/driving both Liberty and Love and coordinating them.  In this sense, Ethics (having the slogan of Equality adn Fundamental Human Rights) is regarded as 'The 0th Principle of the Human Culture', while Liberty is the First and Love is the Second Principles of the Human Culture.  Understanding of this structure guides us better than the understanding of 'Liberty, Equality, and Love' as the three Principles in parallel.

(I wrote this idea first on Nov. 21 in my email to my friend Mr. Akio Harada, as will be posted in the Japanese page of 'From the Readers' in my site.)
