Editor's Note (Toru Nakagawa, Dec. 16, 2017)

This page ’Letters from Readers' is for recording various communications between readers in the world and the Editor, myself.  However, the present page covering Nov.- Dec. 2017 is very unique and devoted for the records of communications mostly issued by Toru Nakagawa for proposing 'World TRIZ Sites Project' and responses to them by many TRIZ Leaders in the world.  The Proposals and Invitations of the Project are posted on Dec. 9, 2017 in this Web site , as an ordinary document so to speak.  In the present page, on the other hand, you can see why and how Nakagawa wanted and initiated the Project and how so many people in various countries responded positively to support and join the Project.  Such a consensus of necessity of 'World TRIZ Sites Project' certainly becomes our motivation to 'Build a (big) page of TRIZ Sites in the World' and further for us, TRIZ community in the world, to work Together! Connected !!

Dear Shireen, Thank you for your message and encouragement.
May I ask you a favor? Could you please let me know about valuable TRIZ (or wider in scope) Web sites around you in English (and in your native language)? Could you list up 5-10 of them together with brief introduction (in 2-3 lines)? I am eager to update my page of the TRIZ links in the world (which has not been updated since 2008, to my regret).
Thanks, best wishes, Toru

Toru Nakagawa ==> Mohammad Reza Nouroozi        Nov. 19, 2017

Dear Mohammad, Thank you for your message and encouragement.
Could you please let me know about valuable TRIZ Web sites in your country in English and in Farsi? Could you list up about 5 of them together with brief introduction (in 2-3 lines each in English)? I am eager to update my page of the TRIZ links in the world (which has not been updated since 2008, to my regret).
Thanks, best wishes, Toru

Mohammad Reza Nouroozi ==> Toru Nakagawa     Nov. 24, 2017

Dear Toru, Thank you for your message. I have searched Iranian website in Farsi about TRIZ but I could not find valuable website about it. Most of the websites in Google first pages are personal websites and YouTube channels or Wikipedia pages. There are some pages about innovation which has some contents about TRIZ and the other pages are just about the workshops and seminars about TRIZ.
By the way, irantriz.ir is just the one website, I have found in Farsi. This website just shows the news about TRIZ and innovation but has not been updated for a year.      Best Reza

Toru Nakagawa ==>  95 TRIZ Leaders (of 33 countries) in the world    (WTSP Project Proposal 1)   Nov. 21, 2017

Dear TRIZ Leaders,  I am writing this message for asking for your consideration, help, and cooperation for the sake of TRIZ.

For these three decades, TRIZ has been proliferated widely in the world to the extent that various activities, achievements, and accumulated knowledge are not viewable easily. We know that many (global/regional) associations, industries, consultancies, academic groups, individual persons are making their TRIZ-related works open in their Web sites. However, the more abundant the works and individual sites grow, the more difficult it becomes recently for people to learn the overall view and to find good works useful for themselves.

A solution for releasing such a difficulty is to "Build a page of TRIZ Sites in the World' and to share it among many Web sites and to keep it up-to-date by the cooperation of many of you and your colleagues.  ** snip **

Thus may I ask you for your favor?
(a) Could you please join an voluntary project of "Building a page of TRIZ Sites in the World"?
(b) Could you suggest any practical way to carry out such a project at your local level as well as at the global level?
(c) In a number of sites, such a list of TRIZ Links is already posted. So collecting them may be an initial step.
(d) Brief annotation of each TRIZ Site is necessary for people to select links useful for themselves. Please use the descriptions in my page as samples. Annotation may be detailed or short, depending on the extent, quality, usefulness, etc. of the site. At the end of annotation, please add your initial and the date of annotation.
** snip **

I sincerely wish your understanding and cooperation. Looking forward to hearing from you, Best wishes, Toru Nakagawa

Tan Runhua (China) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Nov. 23, 2017

Dear Professor Nakagawa,    Thank you for your e-mail for the "Build a page of TRIZ Sites in the World'.
I, myself, is so busy to do the things. But I do think that the work is important for the further development of TRIZ in the world. So I am trying to speak to the president of the university for the supporting, for example, giving my center a professional person to do this. Please waiting for my result.
Thank you! Tan Runhua

Toru Nakagawa ==>  95 TRIZ Leaders (of 33 countries) in the world    (WTSP Project Proposal 1A)   Nov. 24, 2017

Dear TRIZ Leaders, I am receiving positive feedbacks from several TRIZ leaders, with many thanks.

Organizing a cooperative project for Building a page of TRIZ Sites in the World and setting up practical and effective platform and procedures for carrying out the project are the important initial steps at moment.

I am thinking and preparing in the ways described below on a temporary basis and would like to get your suggestions, proposals, and cooperation. See the pdf files attached:
        WorldTRIZSitesProject-Proposal1-TN-171121.pdf    ==>  See the page
WorldTRIZSitesProject-Proposal1A-TN-171123.pdf  ==>  See the page: Proposal 1A: Let’s Cooperate with the platform of TRIZSites.bitrix24.com

Looking forward to hearing from you, Best wishes, Toru Nakagawa

Oleg Kraev (for Yuri Salamatov) (Russia) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Nov. 24, 2017

Dear Professor Toru Nakagawa, Dr. Salamatov who is TRIZ Master agrees to join this project.
With the best regards, Oleg Kraev TRIZ expert

Toru Nakagawa ==>  Simon Dewulf, Darrell Mann, Valeri Souchkov    Nov. 25, 2017

I am writing this mail personally for asking for your support of the World TRIZ Site Project.  I received positive answers from several people.  **snip**   I am sure you all will join the project and contribute to it.

For these few days, I visited many sites in my list page built in 2008 and was shocked because nearly half of them are not active.   And I know that there are a large number of Web sites have emerged later and working actively. I tried to find pages of TRIZ Links in various sites, but obtained only a few.

In these situations, I believe it necessary to organize the project smoothly by using a groupware system Bitrix24. I already started the platform at TRIZSites.bitrix24.com with a FREE account, which allows only 12 users. For us a Standard Cloud account with unlimited number of users for 99.00 USD/month is much desirable. I am going to move to the Standard Cloud account using my personal budget at moment.

I am not good at organizing and operating a big project. So please give me any suggestions and advice, either personally or openly. Best wishes, Toru

Nina Defounga (Germany) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Nov. 25, 2017

Great Work! Best Wishes from Berlin.         Cheers Nina

Nikolay Shpakovsky (Russia) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Nov. 27, 2017

Dear Dr. Nakagawa,   thank you for the letter and invitation to new project.  Of course it is interesting for me and my team.

Area of our interest is practical work with problem solving. As far as you know I was working for SAMSUNG full-time during 4 year and for POSCO part-time (7 years). As result we are developed some new approaches to problem solving and evolution of Technical System.

The problem solving approach is based on classical TRIZ and General Theory of Strong Thinking (OTSM), developed by Nikolay Khomenko. Our fractal algorithm (Algorithm of Improving Problem Situation) is effective enough, easy in using and studying. You could see it in article attached to the letter.
We developed some tools on the base of the algorithm. They are:
    1. Training course (in PPT presentation).
    2. Monography (teach book) in problem solving OTSM-TRIZ. Approaches and practice of application (in Russian)
    3. Software Solving Mill
    4. Distance training course TRIZ-trainer

The second area of my interest is evolution of Technical System.   In this direction we developed effective way of organization of patent and technical information - Trees of Technology evolution.
I have a book printed on Amazon.    Trees of Technology evolution. New ways to business opportunity (in English).

If I can be useful for your project I'm ready to joint to it.
Have you good time.   I remember the time when you visited Minsk with your wife.  (Ref. Nakagawa's Trip Report (1999))       Best regards, Nikolay

Toru Nakagawa ==>  Nikolay Shpakovsky   Nov. 28, 2017

Dear Nikolay, Thank you very much.   Your message of your recent work is very interesting for me. May I post it later in the 'From the Readers' page of "TRIZ Home Page in Japan"?
Your collaboration in the "World TRIZ Sites Project" will be helpful indeed. Thanks. Could you please try to describe your site(s) using the Template as shown in Proposal (1B)? And give me any feed back.
Best wishes, Toru

Toru Nakagawa ==>  95 TRIZ Leaders (of 33 countries) in the world    (WTSP Project Proposal 1B)   Nov. 27, 2017

Dear TRIZ Leaders, Receiving backups by a number of TRIZ leaders/colleagues, I am preparing for starting our World TRIZ Sites Project effectively. Here are some announcements:

(a) Symbol mark of our project is set as you see below.
(b) Our working platform is set at https://TRIZSites.bitrix24.com/ using the Bitrix24 groupware system of Standard Cloud plan, where an unlimited number of users are acceptable.
(c) Documentation system is initialized in the platform, having a hierarchical system of folders, templates and samples of site description, and guidelines for description and opening to public.
(d) Invitation of TRIZ leaders/colleagues and organizing the project on the voluntary basis are under the way.

This document ‘Proposal 1B’ concerns to (c) Documentation system and explains how to use the Bitrix24 platform together for describing individual TRIZ sites and lists of them. See the pdf file attached: WorldTRIZSitesProject-Proposal1B-TN-171127.pdf   ==> See the page: Proposal (1B) Guidelines of Describing TRIZ Sites and Their Lists
We wish to get your help by joining this project.  Looking forward to hearing from you, Best wishes, Toru Nakagawa

Simon Dewulf (Australia) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Nov. 27, 2017

Hi Toru, What about using Wikipedia for the platform, maybe as a subset of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRIZ ?
Thanks simon

Toru Nakagawa ==>  Simon Dewulf  (CC: Darrell Mann, Valeri Souchkov)   Nov. 27, 2017

Dear Simon, Thank you for your message.

Using Bitrix24 groupware system for a week, I am very confident that it is much better than Wikipedia for our platform. My Proposal (1B) sent to you (and 95 TRIZ Leaders) just now will convince you in this point.
Fortunately, Bitrix24 offers 'Cyber Monday' special sale of starting the commercial plan for 50% Off for 24 months commitment. (Sales is only Today! they say.) So I have already bought it (Standard Plan)!

I wish to have your support!   Simon, Darrell, and Valeri, Without your support and collaboration, this Project will not succeed !   Best wishes, Toru

Darrell Mann (UK) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Nov. 28, 2017

Dear Toru, Apologies for my delay in responding to your mail, I needed to wait until my news was official before offering to help with your World TRIZ project.    That has now happened, ** snip **

I believe there will be great synergy between what you are planning and what we want to do, and so I wholeheartedly support your initiative and we will do all in our power to support you.    ** snip **

No doubt we will be in contact again soon. In the meantime, I applaud your continuing passion and support for the TRIZ World.    All the best    darrell

(6) Please try to walk around in the platform to get familiar with very rich functions of Bitrix24 system and methods of handling the documents. A lot of demonstrations in video are available, and FAQ and help support service are very useful for us to learn various operations.

(7) Please try to write your own (and other nearby) Web sites by using the template and upload them to the platform. Such description work is our initial (and also final) task to do in this project.
(8) It is a good idea for you to ask your TRIZ colleagues in your country (or other) to describe their own TRIZ sites in our format (or in your native language) and to send them to you. You may upload the site description files to our platform as contributions by those people.

(9) After receiving Membership Application Forms from many of you, we would like to build our voluntary team by assigning some roles. Hopefully before the holiday season.
(10) Please feel free to tell your questions and suggestions either by email or with the communication tools in the platform.

We sincerely wish to be able to work with you in the new Project for wider and better proliferation of TRIZ.
Together ! Connected !! Best wishes, Toru Nakagawa

PS: I have some difficulty in the mail server to send mails to many people together. So this is just sent to you. Could you please try to open your account in the Bitrix24 platform?

Ellen Domb (USA) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Dec. 5, 2017

Dear Toru:   Many good wishes for the success of your new World TRIZ site Project.

As you can see from the “membership application”  I will not be an active participant.   My husband and I are living on a boat and spending most of our retirement time at small islands with limited internet—I did not get any of your earlier e-mails about this project, but of course you have been talking about earlier versions for a while (maybe the Lisbon ETRIA conference?   Maybe earlier?)    I am delighted that your concept has come to life and that you have found a technology platform to make the information accessible to people world-wide.

The PQR Group TRIZ training and consulting business is now managed by David W. Conley, who is also the new co-author of the 3d edition of “Simplified TRIZ” and the former world TRIZ practice manager for Intel.   I will forward the invitation to Dave and to other TRIZ colleagues.
I hope you and your family have a happy, healthy, and peace-filled New Year 2018.   Ellen

Kai Hiltmann (Germany) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Dec. 6, 2017

Dear Toru-Sama, Thank you for your invitation. I am very busy right now and all my material is in German. So, I will join the group after a few days. Yours sincerely, Kai

Dear Professor Toru Nakagawa, I am Professor Luo's student, she asks me to send you the letter for her, and the following are her words:

"I am so happy to receive your letter. First of all, thank you for your contribution to TRIZ research and promotion.  I'm sorry to say that I have reached the retirement age this year. I am retired now. So, lots of things maybe are not very convenient to do. In addition, we Northeast University has an innovative approach to research and teaching website, but only in Chinese. No one is doing the English page now. I don’t know whether it is suitable for the project. I will think about it very carefully, and will give you the decision as soon as possible. Best wishes," Lingling Luo

Toru Nakagawa ==>  95 TRIZ Leaders in the world    [World TRIZ Sites Project] Information Posted   Dec. 9, 2017

Dear TRIZ Leaders,  On the 'World TRIZ Sites Project', I have posted two articles in my "TRIZ Home Page in Japan", both in English and in Japanese:
[1] Forum (From the Editor): World TRIZ Sites Project: Proposals: Volunteer Project for Connecting TRIZ Sites in the World (Toru Nakagawa)
[2] World TRIZ Sites Project: Its Plan and Invitation: (Toru Nakagawa) In English and in Japanese

In Japan, I have sent the same information two days ago to 33 TRIZ Leaders. In Japan there are many active and important Web sites in TRIZ written in Japanese only.
This must be the same situation probably in over 2/3 of countries in the world. e.g., Germany, France, Russia, China, Korea, Brazil, ... etc.   Mother tongues are of course most useful for people.

So I am asking my TRIZ Colleagues (in Japan) to join or support the 'World TRIZ Sites Project' in any of the following 3 ways.
(a) Contributor in Japanese (not a Member of the Project): To describe one's own (and some more around) TRIZ Web sites in Japanese in the standard format of the Project and contribute the documents to the Project (through one of Japanese Project Member).
(b) Member in Japanese only: Join the Project, use Bitrix24 platform, but in Japanese only. Contribute to work on the description and editing of TRIZ Web sites all over Japan, but handling Japanese documents only.
(c) Member in Japanese and in English: Join the Project in the ordinary manner. To work to describing and editing about TRIZ Web sites all over Japan, in Japanese and in English. And when the (English) Documents for the whole world are ready, to work collaboratively to introduce such document to Japanese people (by translating some important parts into Japanese).

In this situation, I am thinking to use the 'My Drive' storage area in the Bitrix24 platform for the purpose of drafting and revising the documents in Japanese. This should be possible by use of 'private group' sharing and collaboration functions of the Bitrix24 system. The usage of this mode need to be investigated and tried further.
Please consider this National Language Model as a prototype for your (non-English speaking) countries.

--- I will not be able to send the Update Announcement of "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" so often to many people. So I am sending this email to you, TRIZ Leaders, and am going to post this in the chat in the Bitrix24 platform.

We sincerely wish to be able to work with you in the new Project for wider and better proliferation of TRIZ.
Together ! Connected !!     Best wishes, Toru Nakagawa
