  Editor's Note (Toru Nakagawa, Jan. 29, 2013)

Dr. Ed Sickafus is the original developer of USIT (Unified Structured Inventive Thinking). Though he retired Ford Motor Company in 2000, he has been active in developing his theories further and in sharing his thoughts and experiences in his books, Website, and News Letters.

USIT Website:  http://www.u-sit.net/

Dr. Ed Sickafus:   Email: NTELLECK@u-sit.net

In particular, he started his 'USIT News Letter' (or formally, U-SIT and Think News Letter) since November 2003, sometimes weekly and some other times irregularly.  The column of 'Mini Lecture' describes his thoughts and applications of USIT to familiar problems; they are very interesting and enjoyable to read, containing insights.

In 2004, we published the Japanese translation editions of the News Letter up to No. 10 with the collaboration by Hideaki Kosha, in this Web site.  But for these 9 years I could not work on it, to my regret.

Now I made up my mind to restart the Japanese translation of  Sickafus' USIT News Letters and post them in the present Web site, step by step.  On my request, Dr. Sickafus has kindly given me a permission, saying:

You have my permission to translate, and post on the web, all of the U-SIT and Think Newsletters both past and future and their English PDF versions.    Ed Sickafus, Jan. 21, 2013

I am very grateful for his permission.  It is my pleasure to post the original English Edition here as well as the Japanese Edition, for wider publication of the invaluable documents.

(1) Japanese editions will be posted step by step whenever the translation work is ready.  Several numbers of News Letter will be posted in a page, for easier reading.  See the index page .

(2) English editions in the original PDF format will be posted here at the same time for their Japanese editions.
