Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho MEXT) Scholarship

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) offers scholarships to foreign students to study at Japanese universities in order to deepen their understanding of the Japanese language, Japanese affairs and Japanese culture.

Student Exchange Support Program (Scholarship for Short-term Study in Japan)

Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) offers scholarship for qualified international students who are accepted by a Japanese university under a student exchange agreement for up to one year between a Japanese school and their home higher educational institution outside Japan.

AATJ Bridging scholarships for Study Abroad in Japan

Bridging scholarships for American students participating in semester or year-long programs in Japan.

The U.S.-Japan Council Toshizo Watanabe Endowed Scholarship

The Toshizo Watanabe Endowed Scholarship Fund/Toshizo Watanabe Study Abroad Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to undergraduates/graduate students for a semester or year-long study abroad program in Japan.

Watanabe Trust Fund (University of Iceland)

Watanabe Trust Fund (its founding capital was donated by Toshizo Watanebe) provides monthly allowance and travel expenses to the University of Iceland students who intend to take part in their studies at a Japanese university.
