[Urgent message to all staff and students] Corona virus prevention.

As you may have seen in the news, the corona virus, which began in Wuhan city, Hubei province in China, has been spreading to various countries around the globe.
With more cases being confirmed in Japan and the possibility of further spreading, it is extremely important to take preventative measures in your everyday life, such as handwashing and sneezing into your elbows in order to protect yourself and others.
Students and staff, please pay attention to the following points, make sure you keep up to date with all news on the Homepage and please be thorough with your personal hygiene and safety.

  1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an infection warning of level 3 for Hubei province in China (recommending cancellation of all travel) and an infection warning of level 2 for other regions of China (recommending cancellation of all but essential travel). Please follow these guidelines and avoid travel to the applicable regions.
  2. For those coming into Japan from China:
    (1)
    If you are experiencing symptoms of high fever (over 37.5 degrees Celsius) or respiratory difficulties when coming into Japan from China or within two weeks of arriving from China, we request that you avoid contact with other people and promptly call a medical professional to have an examination.
    (2)
    If you do not experience a high fever or respiratory difficulties when coming into Japan from China, you are still urged to refrain from going outside for all but essential reasons for at least 2 weeks and you are requested to wear a mask during any time you leave your home. If any symptoms appear we request that you avoid contact with other people and promptly call a medical professional to have an examination.
    (3)
    Residents of Wuhan city and people who have been in close contact with residents of Wuhan city are requested to remain in their home for two weeks (from the point of arrival in Japan or the point of contact with Wuhan city resident) and monitor their own condition.
