It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Osaka Gakuin University President Emeritus Yoshiyasu Shirai, on the 19th of September 2021 at the age of 75.
The funeral and the wake were held by close relatives at the request of the bereaved family, who have also requested that mourners do not send any monetary offerings, gifts, or flowers. The university will hold a memorial service, but the location, date, and other details have yet to be decided. We will be giving thorough consideration to the state of the COVID-19 pandemic and the safety of guests when making our decisions. We will make an announcement on the home page once the details have been finalized.
