Editor's Note (Toru Nakagawa, Feb. 18, 2013)

The Japanese Standards Association (JSA) published a month ago its monthly magazine "Standardization and Quality Control" (Vol. 66, No. 2) as a Special Issue on TRIZ, containing 8 TRIZ papers in 53 pages.  JSA is a semi-official organization for promoting standadization, e.g. ISO and JIS (Japanese Industrial Stnadards), and QC.  Last August the Editor of the JSA journal proposed this plan to Toshihiro Hayashi, Preseident (at that time) of Japan TRIZ Society (JTS).  Thus the Board Members of JTS made much efforts for writing down a set of introductory papers under the leadership by Hayashi.

The JSA Editorial writes the aim of the TRIZ Special Issue as:

TRIZ, i.e. 'Theory of Inventive Problem Solving', supports probelm solving mainly in the aspects of systematic thinking.  TRIZ has a history of over 65 years, but is still worthy of introducing to you readers who are facing with difficult problems today.  The present issue of the SQ journal is thus specially devoted for the introduction of TRIZ.

Even though we cannot be too optimistic to expect to be able to solve every problem with TRIZ, we may have some inspirations while we learn TRIZ again and newly.  How can we solve difficult problems and achieve higher targets in our industries?  TRIZ may give us some clues to our problems and taks.  (SQ Editorial)

We published 8 articles in the Special Issue for introducing TRIZ in a way easy to understand its perspectives and applications.  We wish the articles be readable and useful to you all, our readers.

Under the kind permission of JSA, some of the articles of the TRIZ Special Issue are going to be published in this site "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".  I am planning to post them step by step, not only in the original Japanese versions but also in English translation, as much as possible.

[Added (Nakagawa, Mar. 22, 2013):  Under the permission of JSA and all the authors, all the eight articles of the TRIZ Special Issue are now going to be published here.  Thanks to JSA and to all the authors!
Added (Nakagawa, May 19, 2013) : Finished to post all the 8 articles.]
