Editor's Note (Toru Nakagawa, May 17, 2018)

This page ’Letters from Readers' is for recording various communications between readers in the world and the Editor, myself.  Starting the WTSP project is the main issue during this peirod.  Various trials for building the WTSP Catalog of TRIZ-related sites in the world has been carried out first in Japan and transferred to many TRIZ leaders across the world.  We are very happy to have received a large number of supportive responses from them and readers, and yet we need much more concrete activities of describing many TRIZ-related sites one by one by forming WTSP teams in various countries.   I hope this page/site/project could serve as a platform for cooperation by many TRIZ leaders/practitioners/learners in the world.

Update of "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" Dec. 17, 2017

Letters from the Readers (Nov.-Dec., 2017)

Toru Nakagawa ==>  Many TRIZ Colleagues in the world    "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" Updated   Dec. 18, 2017

"TRIZ Home Page in Japan" has been updated today (dated Dec.17) in English and in Japanese pages.
http://www.osaka-gu.ac.jp/php/nakagawa/TRIZ/eTRIZ/

[1] TRIZ Forum: Letters from Readers (Nov. - Dec., 2017) / Initializing 'World TRIZ Sites Project'

[English page ] Nakagawa + 22 persons

This page 'Letters from Readers' is for recording various communications between readers in the world and the Editor. However, the present page covering Nov.- Dec. 2017 is very unique and devoted for the records of communications mostly issued by Toru Nakagawa for proposing 'World TRIZ Sites Project' and responses to them by many TRIZ Leaders in the world. The Proposals and Invitations of the Project are posted here on Dec. 9, 2017, as an ordinary document so to speak. In the present page, on the other hand, you can see why and how Nakagawa wanted and initiated the Project and how so many people in various countries responded positively to support and join the Project. Such a consensus of necessity of 'World TRIZ Sites Project' certainly becomes our motivation to 'Build a (big) page of TRIZ Sites in the World' and further for us, TRIZ community in the world, to work Together! Connected !!

[Japanese page ] Nakagawa + 5 persons

Prof. Kuchitsu encourages me. He is Professor Emeritus of Univ. of Tokyo and is just retired officially at the age of 90 and still keeps academic/educational communications with people in Japan and in the world.
H. Sakuma regularly distributes his 'Human Factor Safety Reports' analyzing various accidents/failures. He categorizes errors in 3 types, i.e., Random errors, Systematic errors, and Sporadic errors. Education and training is useful against Random errors, and training of design procedures is necessary against Systematic errors; but neither of them can prevent Sporadic errors, which come out sub-consciously. He says Human-Factor solutions have to be trained for preventing Sporadic errors.

We sincerely wish your support and cooperation. Best wishes, Toru

Alexander Kashkarov (Russia) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Dec. 16, 2017

Thank you for inviting me to participate in your initiatives. I agree to participate in volunteer work together as 'World TRIZ Sites Project'.

I have a number of ideas for organizing the structure of lists of sites and their description. (My opinion:)
Most TRIZ users repeatedly rested on the gaps of innovative methods. Virtually all innovative tools have gaps, but they are not talked about. In my opinion, that's why TRIZ is slowly developing and losing ground. It is time to eliminate these gaps. I think that your initiative can change this situation.

I propose to draw up a detailed list of existing innovative methodological tools (not only TRIZ). This list should look like a roadmap of system analysis, search and problem solving (similar to the roadmap practiced in GEN3Partners, but more extensive) on the one hand, and as a hierarchical structure in which the basic methodological tools are at the top, and its modified and improved techniques - branches.

I propose to compile an open sheet, in which specific shortcomings and gaps for each methodical tool should be inscribed. Each such shortcomings and gaps can be accompanied by a cross-reference to a methodical tool (site), where this defect is eliminated, at least partially. An open list of the shortcomings of the methods may be the catalist for the development of TRIZ.

Best wishes, Alexander Kashkarov, TRIZ-Master

Toru Nakagawa ==> Alexander Kashkarov   Dec. 18, 2017

Thank you very much for your message.

(1) You are very welcome to the Project. Please fill in 'Membership Application Form' and send it to me via email. Please access to our Bitrix24 platform and open an account for yourself. The system automatically accept your account.

(2) Your opinion that we should think about TRIZ in a much wider scope including various relevant methods is interesting and important, I think. It's nice if you have or are going to publish your thoughts in papers/articles. Please include not only shortcomings but also strengths of methods, and how we can/should connect/unify those methods apparently have gaps at moment.

(3) I add CC to Darrell Mann, who is going to serve as Global Co-editor of our Project in the aspects of 'Relevant Fields and Methods around TRIZ' for widening our scope of TRIZ.

In my next update of "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" I would like to post your opinion in the "Letters from Readers" page.
Thanks and best wishes, Toru Nakagawa

Shahid Saleem Arshard (Australia) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Dec. 22, 2017

...   I had not been on the "Meemji" account where I get your THPJ emails for some time. I was therefore glad to see your plan to link together 95 TRIZ experts and their websites. Would you kindly advise if I am one of those 95 experts and am eligible to apply to join.
Best wishes, Shahid

Toru Nakagawa ==> Shahid Saleem Arshard    Dec. 22, 2017

...  You are of course very welcome to join the World TRIZ Sites Project. Please fill in and send me the Membership Application Form (attached here) and open your account at the Bitrix24 system with URL: https://trizsites.bitrix24.com/?secret=8e5wo0yl    Please follow the articles written in THPJ.

The WTSP Project is open for any TRIZ Leaders/Colleagues in the world on a voluntary basis. It expects the Members work basically in a bottom-up way of Country/Region/Whole world but also borderless across the world.
Best wishes, Toru

Maksymilian Smolnik (Poland) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Dec. 22, 2017

Yesterday I read all of the proposals and the invitation related to the World TRIZ Sites Project. It's a huge operation, but I find it really interesting, and I'm sure that the results will be definitely useful for the TRIZ community. I would be glad to support the project in some way.
Best wishes, Maksymilian Smolnik

Maksymilian Smolnik ==> Toru Nakagawa  Dec. 25, 2017

Thank you for the personal invitation. I've just created my Bitrix account. Everything seems to work correctly for me. I need a little time to get familiar with the site and I'll be ready to begin my work. I know a couple of Polish sites related to TRIZ, so I think I could present at least some of them within the WTS Project. Probably I'll contact some colleagues in Poland to ask them for additional information and encourage them to support the project.
Best wishes, Maksymilian Smolnik

[1] Message for the New Year 2018 (Toru Nakagawa)

Greetings from Japan for a Happy New Year 2018!!   Wish the year be peaceful in the World, and healthy, happy, and successful for you all. Posted is an English translation of my New Year Card which I sent to about 200 friends in Japan whom I met before my TRIZ days.

In the card I used the photo of swallows, where parents gave flight demonstration to youngsters on the day before leaving the nest. I realized that the swallows teach and learn, through this flight demenostration, 'Liberty, Love, and Ethics' quite naturally and with all their sincerity. Not only swallows but all the plants and animals on the earth are living naturally and fully with their 'Liberty, Love, and Ethics', even though they do not use such words. 'Liberty, Love, and Ethics' are the guiding principles for all the living things to live together on the Earth.

[2] Starting the preparation of 'A Catalogue of TRIZ-related Sites in the World' (1) Findings through Practices in Japan (Toru Nakagawa)

For the actual start of preparing 'A Catalogue of TRIZ- related Sites in the World', I am now working to search and collect TRIZ-related Sites in Japan and to write brief introductions to them. Here are some findings and suggestions for our work.
** Notice: Depending on countries there seem various differences in the options of search engines and in the situations of TRIZ-related sites. Thus in each coutry, please adapt/modify your practical procedures to meet our common goal.

For the search of TRIZ-related sites, we should better use Yahoo! instead of Google, with the keyword of 'TRIZ' and with the settings of 'Local area', 'Our own language', and the option of 'Display the link for searching inside the site'. Copy the full results of the search onto a document while keeping the hyperlinks active.

For each site shown in the search results, carry out the search inside the site; then we can get the search results of many TRIZ-relevant pages inside the site. Visit each site actually to take a look at important pages and write a brief introduction to the site.
(Revision in the Guideline: 'Single line introduction' ==> 'Brief introduction' (in 2 to 4 lines, in a free format).

Because of much diversity among the sites, we are going to classify them according to their nature into 9 Categories, such as (a) TRIZ information sending sites, (b) Consultants etc. in TRIZ, (c) Academic societies, etc. (d) Universities, etc. Depending on the nature of the site, quality and quantity of information, and importance, etc., we should introduce important sites closely to some detail, while less important ones just briefly.

There exist many important relevant sites without mentioning TRIZ explicitly. So we should carry out broader searching for them at the second stage.
How to search them and how to arrange them in our (second type of) Catalogue of TRIZ-related Sites are now under consideration by our 'Global Co-editor' Darrell Mann.

Project members are encouraged to start the search and description work in their own country in the manner describe above and in the Guidelines.

Toru Nakagawa ==>  100 TRIZ Leaders in the world    WTSP Project   Jan. 31, 2018

Hope you are well, active, and busy as ever.
I wish you to take a look at two documents of the current situations for TRIZ beginners to search good information sources on TRIZ. See attached .docx files.

File A : Google search with keyword 'TRIZ', 50 sites displayed. Region is intently set as Indonesia for the purpose of neutralize the effects of location. Do you think this results would guide beginners (and even practitioners) to suitable and rich information sources?

File B : Selected 100 TRIZ Sites in the World, with brief introductions of the site contents. This was compiled by Nakagawa 10 years ago, in 2008. Your excellent site may be introduced well and closely, or seemingly old, or missing alas! The world and industries are advancing rapidly, so is TRIZ. A World Catalog of TRIZ Sites 10 years ago is too obsolete.

Don't you think we TRIZ community have much more and better information resources, which are easy to understand, having wider scope, useful and applicable in practice, etc.

In File B, TRIZ sites are arranged according to regions and countries. So would you please check the descriptions of sites in your country and neighboring countries, and add important new sites and update and enhance the introductory descriptions?

In my Web site, "TRIZ Home Page in Japan", I have posted about the start of World TRIZ Sites Project (WTSP), with some description of guidelines and practical ways of our cooperative work, using a groupware system Bitrix24 in cloud as our platform. Would you please join our World TRIZ Sites Project? If you are too busy, would you please encourage some of your group members or your friends to volunteer the Project?

Your activities and Web sites and our activities and Web sites will become more powerful and more effective when we all work Together ! Connected !!
Best wishes, sincerely, Toru

Juergen Jantschgi (Austria) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Jan. 31, 2018

Hi Toru, i hope you can remember – our last meeting was around 7-8 years ago, i guess ;(

I´m still active in TRIZ, however i do not have the time to participate in that much international conferences any more. (during my time at the University of Technology in Leoben it was part of my work). Since 2008 i have my own consultancy – offering different services with TRIZ & Systematic Innovation . E.g. i´m organizing seminars with international experts like Sergei (Ikovenko), Darrell (Mann) & Simon (Dewulf) in Austria & Germany. Since several years i have a strong cooperation with Robert Adunka (former Siemens), who started his own TRIZ-company, the TRIZ Consulting Group, 2 years ago. Since beginning of this year i´m also headmaster of a Higher Technical College in my hometown. So a lot of "new work".

I added some information regarding our companies in the file enclosed – hope that helps in your great initiative. Hope to meet soon again somewhere!

Best greetings from Austria to Japan Jürgen

Sebastian Koziołek (Poland) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Feb. 2, 2018

Dear Toru, thank you for the links, now we can see the evolution of TRIZ Community in the World.

Simon S. Litvin (USA) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Feb. 2, 2018

Let me update your TRIZ companies and websites Database.
The company GEN3 Partners was dissolved in August 2016. Correspondingly, its website does not exist anymore. However, all key TRIZ experts and managers of GEN3 Partners established from September 1, 2016 the new company - GEN TRIZ, LLC. Its charter is the same of GEN3 Partners - TRIZ-based consulting, training, facilitation, and technology development and commercialization. The website of this company is www.gen-triz.com. The key people of GEN TRIZ, LLC are: TRIZ Master Dr. Simon Litvin, TRIZ Master Dr. Oleg Abramov, and TRIZ Master Alex Lyubomirskiy. I believe you met with them during multiple TRIZ conferences. The company also employs several other TRIZ Masters and Level 4 TRIZ experts.
Best regards, Simon

WTSP Project: Starting the preparation of 'A Catalogue of TRIZ-related Sites in the World' (2) For more practical ways of preparation (Toru Nakagawa)

Toru Nakagawa ==>  100 TRIZ Leaders in the world    WTSP Project   Feb. 8, 2018

Hope you are fine. ...

(b) In "TRIZ Home Page in Japan", I have just posted a page: WTSP Project: Starting the preparation of 'A Catalogue of TRIZ-related Sites in the World' (2) For more practical ways of preparation:

On the basis of the policy written in (1) (Jan. 30, 2018), a more practical way of describing individual TRIZ sites and list of them has been shown by relaxing the Guidelines. MS Word instead of Excel may be used, and plain text formats may be easier to write than tabular formats.

The File B  ('Selected 120 TRIZ Sites in the World', composed by Nakagawa in 2008) is going to be used as the sample and base document for updating and enhancement. Sections of the file are uploaded in the Project Draft Main Folder of the WTSP platform. Corresponding to this practical ways, the WTSP Guideline is revised partly.

(c) As you see in File A (and as you often experience for yourself), Internet search with Google, YAHOO, etc. outputs a large number of Web pages, of not-so-high quality. This situation will get even worse with the increase of activities by TRIZ experts and by people interested in TRIZ.

Our task is to make a reliable source of TRIZ information, in smaller number and selected good quality, for beginners as well as for practitioners.
Let's work Together! Connected!! and let's share the results world wide !!!
Best wishes, Toru

Robert Adunka (Germany) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Feb. 9, 2018

I have sent your message to all the presidents of the regional TRIZ groups in Europe. Jürgen Jantschgi answered you already on my behalf. It would be nice if I could also publish this information on my Website, as soon as it is compiled.
Best regards, Robert Adunka

Toru Nakagawa ==>  100 TRIZ Leaders in the world    WTSP Project   Feb. 13, 2018

Would you please give a fovor to the TRIZ Community ? Seeking for practical and effective ways to integrate our individual voluntary endeavors into meaningful and useful outputs and activities, I would like to ask you for your help in the following 2 points:

(A) Please review and revise the attached Word file of 'A Catalog of TRIZ Sites in the World' ?
This is the base document for WTSP at the current initial stage. Introduction and Instructions are shown at the top of the Word document. Please review and revise the descriptions with MS Word and send the revised parts to some WTSP active members via email.

(B) Could you please join the WTSP Project?
Since almost all of you are too busy to learn the operation of Bitrix24 system, I have changed the Membership rule as: "WTSP Members may or may not use the WTSP Bitrix24 platform directly." Most of the revision and editing work can be done Off the platform.
Could you please fill in our new Membership Application Form and send it to me? We need collaborative work by many TRIZ leaders/colleagues, especially YOU selected as one of the 95 TRIZ Leaders from 33 countries. We need active WTSP members, who would take the responsible roles for each Country, for each Region, and for the World. It is nice also if we can get several members who would work for technical and editorial services inside our Bitrix24 platform.

Please refer to "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" for more detail. Updated on Feb. 7, Feb. 10, and Feb. 12. Thanking you for your cooperation, Best wishes, Sincerely, Toru

Toru Nakagawa ==>  Many TRIZ Leaders/Colleagues in the world   "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" Updated    Feb. 14, 2018

"TRIZ Home Page in Japan" has been updated recently on Feb. 7, Feb. 11, and Feb. 12 in English and in Japanese pages. http://www.osaka-gu.ac.jp/php/nakagawa/TRIZ/eTRIZ/

[1] WTSP Project: Starting the preparation of 'A Catalogue of TRIZ-related Sites in the World' (2) For more practical ways of preparation (Toru Nakagawa)

We wish to build 'A Catalog of TRIZ-related Sites in the Word' useful for TRIZ beginners and practitioners. There are many, excellent TRIZ Sites in various countries, written in English and in their own languages. So we wish to work Together! Conected!! to build a catalog of thme and share the results worldwide!!!

Since all of us are so busy, I have been trying to find practical and effective ways of the collaborative work in the WTSP project. Here is a better solution, revising the one I proposed at the end of last December:

(a) A basic manuscript in MS Word is now posted publicly for reviewing and revising by many people in parallel. The manuscript is based on 'Selected 120 TRIZ Sites in the World' composed by Nakagawa 10 years ago, 2008. Please review it and revise the parts relevant to you and your country, and send the revised Word file via email to some active WTSP member close to you. Instructions, as well as a lot of examples, are there.

(b) Project Members can work actively without using the Bitrix24 platform. You may use MS Word off the site and use emails for communication and sending files, as usual. In this new style of activities, could you pleae join us in the World TRIZ Sites Project ? The Membersship Application Form in .doc is posted in the "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".

(c) The WTSP platform in the Bitrix24 groupware system will be operated in the way as we planned before. Uploading, editing, and publicizing work inside the platform will be carried out by a relatively small number of Members. (We wish to have voluntary people for this service.) Revised manuscript of the World Catalog will be posted publicly for the collaborative work every 1-2 months in the WTSP platform and every 1-2 weeks in "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".

I am looking forward to your collaboration, and you may be looking forward to the Project results !!
Best wishes, Sincerely, Toru

Announcement of Catalog of TRIZ-related sites in Japan in Japanese.  Full annotations for 92 sites (including 24 selected sites).

Michael Orloff (Germany) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Mar. 18, 2018

Dear Prof. Nakagawa, I would be very happy to join your studying the TRIZ web-acivity with my two web-resources www.mtriz.com (in English) and www.gramtriz.com (in Russian). I attached the Membership Application Forms with necessary information. If any need to correct it I am ready to do it.

Also I would be very happy to co-operate with you in university and industry education and training.
Kind regards, Michael Orloff

Toru Nakagawa ==> Michael Orloff    Mar. 18, 2018

Thank you very much for your message.

(1) I am very happy to accept you in the WTSP project. Your Membership Application Forms are just merged as shown attached. It is very kind of you to volunteer a Global Co-editor. We need a number of Global Co-editors, as well as Regional and Country Editors.

(2) Thank you for the description of your two Web sites. I have slightly edited the file, as shown in the attached file. I assumed the type of your sites as (b) Consultants/Vendors/Dealers. Is your 'Academy' a public, noncommercial organization? If yes, we may write the type of your sites as (b) and (d).

(3) It is important for the WTSP project to make the Catalog of TRIZ-related Sites as a fair and useful document covering most of important sites (including those other than the Members' own sites). It should introduce the sites in a way useful for TRIZ beginners and for TRIZ practitioners/experts.

(4) Descriptions of books and software tools are also useful, as you write in the Membership Application Form.

I am very happy to work with you. By the way, won't you use LinkedIn ? It is good to have many connections with professionals of common interests.
Best wishes, Toru

Michael Orloff ==> Toru Nakagawa  Mar. 18, 2018

(1) I am very touched by your kind letter to me and your very careful correction of my materials.

(2) IMPORTANT: our main public profile is education. Second one is consulting. Our "closed" profile is researching company to develop new scientific grounds for TRIZ.

(3) We are commercial company and our main business is distance education (training) for two levels: a) for the very beginners as Junior in MTRIZ, and b) for specialists as Practitioner in MTRIZ. We are also supplying the Expert and Master blend training on the individual programs.

(4) I used Linkedin for 2 or 3 years but stopped it after too many ineffective contacts.

(5) For many years it was my dream to talk with you and to meet you sometime. Now, after your so kind answering to me, my hopes are still bigger.
Kind regards and best wishes to you, Michael

Toru Nakagawa ==> Michael Orloff    Mar. 19, 2018

According to your clarification, I think the type of your site is (e) and (b), where (e) Commercial/non-commercial organizations operating lectures, seminars, communication education, etc. in the TRIZ-related fields (Maybe I should use the wording of e-learning instead of communication education.)

Looking forward to working with you and seeing you hopefully in ETRIA TFC2018,
Best wishes, Toru

Maksymilian Smolnik (Poland) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Mar. 30, 2018

I've just uploaded the updated file 'ListSites-Region-A-Europe-180330.docx' to the WTSP Company drive - Project Drafts - Region-A-Europe. Please, let me know if such way of updating is right. Of course, I'll prepare another updates relating to other Polish TRIZ sites on the Internet. I've also attached my Membership Application Form to this letter.
Thank you! Best wishes, Maksymilian

Toru Nakagawa ==> Maksymilian Smolnik    Mar. 31, 2018

Thank you so much. I have slightly updated your file in the Bitrix24 platform.
The style is essentially OK, but with some minnor comments:

(a) Please use the style Heading 2 for the top line of a site.

(b) Please describe the site some more concretely, e.g.,

Akademia TRIZ dla biznesu (Academia TRIZ for Business (?)) This site was built to cover a conference held in ___ 2013 at city ____. The conference was organized by ___ and has a number of papers written by ____ in relation to ____.

(c) Please add some more sites in Poland, as you write. After your listing of important sites in Poland, we would like to write to a number of TRIZ people in Poland, especially Dr. Sebastian Koziolek and his group, to get their support to enhance the descriptions.

Thanks again, Best wishes, Toru

WTSP Outputs: Catalog of TRIZ-related Sites in Japan (in English) (Toru Nakagawa)

Toru Nakagawa ==>  Many TRIZ Colleagues in the world    "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" Updated   Apr. 5, 2018

Greetings from Japan with a photo of spring with full cherry blossom.
"TRIZ Home Page in Japan" has been updated yesterday in Enlgish pages, and earlier on Mar. 17 in Japanese pages. http://www.osaka-gu.ac.jp/php/nakagawa/TRIZ/eTRIZ/

[1] WTSP Outputs: Catalog of TRIZ-related Sites in Japan (in Japanese and in English) Toru Nakagawa

A full manuscript for the Catalog of TRIZ-related Sites in Japan has been posted (in Japanese on Mar. 17) as a preliminary part of the WTSP World Catalog. It introduces 92 sites, describing in 2 to 8 lines each.  It is remarkable that about 2/3 of the sites are new sites in these 10 years. Almost all the sites are posted in Japanese only.

In English, selected 24 TRIZ-related sites in Japan (type (a)) are introduced with annotation, posted on Apr. 4. Most of the sites are written only in Japanese, but there are some sites written in English as well as in Japanese.
Some of the sites are particularly mentioned here briefly:

01 (a)(d) TRIZ Home Page in Japan (Toru Nakagawa): Most active site since 1998 posting TRIZ articles and papers internationally.
03 (a)(c) Japan TRIZ Society (NPO): Nation-wide center for promoting TRIZ, organizing Japan TRIZ Symposium every year.
09 (a)(b) IDEA Corp. (Mamoru Zenko): Active consulting firm promoting integral use of QFD-TRIZ-TM and Goldfire software.
10 (a)(b) MOST (Kazuya Yamaguchi): Consulting firm promoting integral use of QFD-TRIZ-TM and AI (big data analysis).
12 (a)(b) Ideation Japan, Inc. (Teruyuki Kamimura): Actively promoting Ideation-TRIZ, strong in IP field.
14 (a)(g) TRIZ Study (Shinsuke Kurosawa): Posting many papers by G. Altshuller and other Russian authors in Japanese translation.
16 (a)(b) Pro-Engineers (Shigeru Kasuya): An active consultant promoting TRIZ/USIT, posting many introductory articles.
17 (a)(b) IdeaPlant (Rikie Ishii): Conducting workshops for enhancing idea generation; developed 'TRIZ Brainstorming Cards'.
18 (a)(e) Monodukuri.com (Osamu Kumasaka): Active portal site connecting Issues in monodukuri (60 issues) to Methods for solutions (118 methods) by getting support of many professionals. This is a nice new business model, I think.

Catalogs like this in each country and at the global level should be very useful for many people who want to learn TRIZ and creative problem solving methods.
Learning the existence and activities of these many TRIZ-related sites, we TRIZ practitioners are much sitmulated: Let's work Together!, Connected!! for building up the world Catalog in World TRIZ Sites Project (WTSP)!!!

Best wishes, Sincerely, Toru

Update of "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" Apr. 24, 2018

Catalog of TRIZ-related sites in Japan (92 sites, in English), Current Working Manuscripts of the WTSP Catalog

Toru Nakagawa ==>  Many TRIZ Colleagues in the world    "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" Updated   Apr. 24, 2018

"TRIZ Home Page in Japan" has been updated today in Enlgish pages. http://www.osaka-gu.ac.jp/php/nakagawa/TRIZ/eTRIZ/

[1] WTSP Outputs: Catalog of TRIZ-related Sites in Japan (in English) (Toru Nakagawa)

In addition to the 24 selected sites posted earlier on Apr. 4, 68 TRIZ-related sites in Japan are posted with annotations in English of 1-3 lines each. (In the Japanese page all the 92 sites are introduced with closer annotation of 2-8 lines each.)

These additional sites can give us the idea on the diversity of the TRIZ-related sites which reflect different types of applications/activities/acceptance of TRIZ. For most people outside Japan, the selected 24 sites may be enough to see in the WTSP Catalog in its global edition.

[2] WTSP Project: Current Working Manuscripts of the WTSP Catalog are posted (Toru Nakagawa)

For the purpose of smooth collaborative work in the WTSP project, the working files of the Catalog are posted in the up-to-date form. The Base document is the annotated list of TRIZ-related sites, which was written by Nakagawa in May 2008. We should check and update all the sites written and add new sites in our new Catalog.

Working manuscripts of the Catalog are edited in .docx file for each Region (i.e., Europe, Russia, Asia, etc.). Only the sites new or revised from the Base document are shown in the Working manuscript files.

WTSP project is open to anybody working and interested in TRIZ. Please contribute your introductions to the sites you recommend or you are involved. Please follow the guidelines and instructions shown in our Web site. We are going to update the Working manuscripts every 1-2 weeks and to post them in "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".

Catalogs like this in each country and at the global level should be very useful for many people who want to learn TRIZ and creative problem solving methods.
Learning the existence and activities of these many TRIZ-related sites, we TRIZ practitioners are much stimulated: Let's work Together!, Connected!! Build up the World Catalog of TRIZ-related Sites and build up Cooperative TRIZ community in World !!!
Best wishes, Sincerely, Toru

The difficulty of our WTSP is the fact that active TRIZ leaders like you are so busy that they cannot spend much time to the activities even though they believe their usefulness. If we work harder and harder separately without collaboration, our situations will get even harder. This is why we need to work Together ! Connected !!

Looking forward to hearing from you, Best wishes, Toru

I received your Membership Application Form in February, and will use your present version with some revision under your agreement (see the file attached):

Could you please become Country Editor of China (as well as the Member)?   Please make a Web site Catalog in Chinese first and make an English edition of it next. The Catalog in Chinese is useful for the readers in your country (and some more who can read Chinese). I guess there are many useful TRIZ Web sites in Chinese.

You may or may not use Bitrix24 platform for yourself. Could you please assign some of your colleagues to operate it in Chinese? Thank you for your cooperation. Toru

Tan Runhua ==> Toru Nakagawa  Apr. 29, 2018

Yes, I will be pleaseed to be the country editor of China.

You can see samples in WTSP Catalog of TRIZ-related sites in Japan (in English) .   Introduction may be short or long depending on the importance and contribution of the sites to the TRIZ community in each country and in the world.

I live in the city Kashiwa, nearly 30 km north-east from Tokyo city center. I will be happy to meet you and your wife in Tokyo when you visit Japan.
Best wishes, Toru

Toru Nakagawa ==> 5 TRIZ Leaders in France     Apr. 30, 2018

Dear TRIZ Leaders in France, Hello, how are you?

I am writing this email to invite you to join the WTSP (World TRIZ Sites Project) and to ask you to form a team of WTSP Members in your country for carrying out the jobs.

The current goal of WTSP is to build a Catalog of TRIZ-related Web sites in the World and introduce the sites and their activities/results to many people in the world.

We know that France is active and successful in developing and applying TRIZ in various ways. So could you please introduce various TRIZ-related sites in your country to people all over the world? Many of those sites are written in French language. Thus only you can introduce them to the world.

Since last November I have been sending the WTSP information/invitation directly to you five leaders, whom I arbitrarily chose in my communication network. The WTSP project is open to anybody who would volunteer to work for the WTSP goal.

Could you please join WTSP first by sending your Membership Application Form (attached here) to me. Could you please form a WTSP team inside your country and work together for building the Catalog of TRIZ-related Web sites in France. It would be nice if one of you is willing to take the charge of WTSP Country Editor for France, and even one of WTSP Global Co-editors.

Please make a French language version first where as many sites as possible are introduced fully. Then please make an English language edition of the Catalog of selected TRIZ-related sites in France, which will become a part of the World Catalog.

The work needed in the WTSP project is not small and simple, but taking much time and requiring proper evaluation and description, I know. For the same reason, the work accomplished in WTSP will be highly evaluated, you know.

I attach here the WTSP letter (Apr. 24) again for your reference.
Looking forward to hearing from you all, Best wishes, Toru

Denis Cavallucci (France) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Apr. 30, 2018

Hi Toru, Thanks for your reminder. As for your intitiative, once more, congratulations for having spent so much of your professional life to TRIZ development !

We are a little appart in France since our speaking language is often our native language (French). Nevertheless, I am glad to send you the website of my team : https://inventivedesign.unistra.fr/
Most of the website contents are restricted to Industrial members, we need funding to develop, and unfortunately, our government is not enclined to fund our research activities. This is why we asked (and we got) funding from industries from several countries over the world (not from Japan) on the basis of donation (tax deductible). But the counterpart is that what we develop is only accessible to them for beta-testing.

I will be glad to further discuss this with you ! Keep in touch, Denis

Dmitry Kucharavy (France) ==> Toru Nakagawa  Apr. 30, 2018

I would like to keep you informed that I don't contribute/participate in contemporary TRIZ society since 2012.  My actual research interests are far from modern TRIZ movement. Thus, I don't feel myself as a competent one for answering your kind invitation.
I really appreciate your initiative and your persistence. Have a good luck!
With kind regards, Dmitry Kucharavy

Toru Nakagawa ==> Dmitry Kucharavy    May 1, 2018

I have just visited your Web site www.seecore.org . Could you please write a short introduction (in several lines) of your own Web site (or any other you think important though not known widely in the TRIZ community) and send it to me?

You do not need to be a Member of WTSP, and can contribute to the WTSP project from outside the project. I wish to keep connection with you, as a long term friend since the days in Minsk in 1999.
Best wishes, Toru

Dmitry Kucharavy ==> Toru Nakagawa    May 3, 2018

A. The website www.seecore.org
Was established to share with my colleagues and my students some materials and documents. There are two parts:
1. Researching future - it is dedicated to my current research interests. There are my publications and presentations made for the subject of research. There are also some links that are useful for someone who is interested about Researching Future methodology.
2. Knowledge Management for Problem Solving & OTSM: There are some materials from past useful for students who asking my service for learning about ARIZ and OTSM-TRIZ. There are some basic resources, like a properly translated text of ARIZ-85C in English and in French (without contractions). There are links to information resources about TRIZ that to my mind can be useful for learners who is searching how to solve unsolvable problems.
The first part of website [researching future] is updated when there are new publications or presentations.

B. I also keep available for public the website www.trizminsk.org (OTSM-TRIZ Technologies Center)
This is a library that is not updated since long time. It was a first website in Russian about TRIZ. From 1997 to 2004 it was regularly updated. Actually, the websites https://www.jlproj.org/ and https://otsm-triz.org/ are expansions of the original project TRIZMINSK.ORG

I believe to answer for your request.
Thank you for your long standing efforts for dissemination information for TRIZ society.
With kind regards, Dmitry Kucharavy

Toru Nakagawa ==> Dmitry Kucharavy    May 3, 2018

Thank you very much. Your introductions to two sites are clear and useful. I will edit them in the next revised version (of Working Manuscript of the WTSP Catalog).
Best wishes, Toru

Roland De Guio (France) ==> 4 TRIZ Leaders in France (CC: Toru Nakagawa)    May 1, 2018

Dear colleagues, Are you ready to have a visio session, so we can discuss about Toru's project for french sites? Just let me know. Then I will organize the meeting for the ones who are interested.
Kind regards, Roland

Toru Nakagawa ==> Simon Dewulf (Australia)    Apr. 30, 2018

Dear Simon, How are you? You are fine, active, and very busy, I suppose.

I sincerely wish you to become one of Global Co-editors of the WTSP project and contribute to build a Catalog of TRIZ-related sites in the world and thus construct cooperative TRIZ community in the world.

Last December you wrote in your Membership Application Form:
What roles? ■ Member, □ Country editor, □ Regional editor, □ Global co-editor, □ Relevant Fields, □ Technical support、 ■ Other (SIG BIG Patent DATA and Artificial Intelligence)
Your proposal of a SIG is interesting and attractive.

But first of all, we need to get many Members who are voluntary to work to build a Catalog of TRIZ related sites. We are going to build the Catalogs of various countries at first and integrate them into the World Catalog.

Besides that, we would like to make a World Catalog of TRIZ-related sites arranged according not to the countries but to some categories of fields/methods/approaches. Darrell Mann is the Global Co-editor of WTSP responsible to this alternative arrangement.
I think your list, "846 of the best websites on the web about creativity and innovation handpicked by our team!" should be nice as a basis of our Catalog in such an approach.

So could you please become a Global Co-editor of WTSP and work with Darrell?
I attach the WTSP letter (Apr. 24) again here for your reference.
Looking forward to hearing from you, Best wishes, Toru

Simon Dewulf ==> Toru Nakagawa    May 5, 2018

Hi Toru, Hope all is very well with you. Again thanks for the invitation.
I can do Global Co-Editor with Darrell, certainly, thanks.
Best regards, Simon

Michael Orloff (Germany) ==> Toru Nakagawa    May 4, 2018

I have sent the main docs of WTSP to my partner in Brazil Prof. Sylvio Silveira Santos to invite him to join WTSP.   In near future I try to invite next persons to participate in WTSP.

Me and my wife Valentina Orloff (she is Executive Director of all our companies for more than 30 years and does hard work for project management, personal, finance etc.) have found your idea and work to arrange WTSP society as very valuable and contemporary. Thank you for your initiative, nice idea and hard work. Please allow us to support you. Best to you, Michael

Toru Nakagawa ==> Michael Orloff    May 4, 2018

Thank you for your encouragement and cooperation for WTSP. It will be our pleasure to have Prof. Sylvio Silveira Santos as our new WTSP member. We are thankful for your inviting many of your TRIZ friends to join WTSP.  .....

Please invite any TRIZ colleagues as a Member of WTSP.   We should better take time to wait for voluntary self-proposals by Members before inviting any explicitly as Country Editors, Region Editors, and Global Co-editors.
I am now eagerly looking forward to the acceptance replies from the three Global Co-editor candidates, as you know.

Thanking you again, Best wishes, Toru

Sylvio Silveira Santos (Brazil) ==> Toru Nakagawa    May 5, 2018

Shireen Al - Jaouni (Palestine - Jerusalem) ==> Toru Nakagawa    Apr. 27, 2018

I would like to thank you very much for these updates related to TRIZ Sites.

In order to increase the awareness of TRIZ which leads to increase the number of TRIZ sites, could you please allow me to  suggest the following steps?:

1- Comparing the current problem solving techniques vs xTRIZ problem solving techniques used in the projects in local, international and non-governmental institutions.

2- Focusing on sustainable development projects which become the most required field nowadays especially in developing countries.

3- Providing online courses related to xTRIZ under the supervision of Osaka Gakuin University - World TRIZ Sites Project (WTSP).

4- Preparing online guidance of xTRIZ problem tools including practical examples of them.

5- Sharing informative resources regarding TRIZ and xTRIZ problem solving techniques.

Your instructions are always welcomed;  Together ! Connected !!
Best Regards;  Shireen Al - Jaouni

Toru Nakagawa ==> Shireen Al - Jaouni    Apr. 28, 2018

Thank you for your message and suggestions.

(1) May I ask you a question?   What do you mean by xTRIZ?    xTRIZ is a term used by Valeri Souchkov for mentioning his way of extended TRIZ.

(2) Most of the jobs you mention, i.e., Comparing, Focusing, Providing, and Preparing, are desirable to do in the TRIZ community.  And some people in the TRIZ community in the world may be actually working in such directions, even if we do not know who and how much.
The tasks for the WTSP project should be Sharing (or Make Sharing easy) informative resources, which exist already and are coming and growing in near future by the efforts of many people in the global TRIZ community.

(3) I would like to ask you another question:   There are a number of young engineers, PhD students, and people on their way of learning/mastering TRIZ.  In which ways may we ask them to contribute to the WTSP project? What kind of jobs should we suggest to them?    Their ways of contributions will certainly be different from the ways by world TRIZ leaders and TRIZ site owners.

Best wishes, Toru

Shireen Al - Jaouni  ==> Toru Nakagawa    May 4, 2018

Thank you very much for your email.

(1) xTRIZ is problem solving techniques for business and management which is the most required field nowadays.

Project management has become a popular fashion in local and international organizations but these institutions use traditional problem solving techniques in their projects, so innovative thinking through TRIZ theory enriched by ideas from in- and out of the box for finding innovative solutions that, most likely, will give them the comparative advantage to leapfrog its competitors and provide a service and a product to its customers that will meet its expectations.

Currently, I certified in project management professional (PMP) to gain updated tools in management, as well as, I am preparing to gain PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® which is very important approach in project management and TRIZ as well. I read many articles related to Agile, Project management and TRIZ as the articles linked below:

'Integrating TRIZ in Project Management Processes: An ARIZ Contribution': by Helena V.G. Navas, et al., Procedia Engineering, Vol. 131 (2015)    https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1877705815042654

'Agile Innovation and TRIZ/SI': by Darrell Mann and Ellen Domb, TRIZ Journal, Nov. 2009.  https://triz-journal.com/triz-systematic-innovation-enhances-hoshin-kanri/

(2) I suggested the jobs mentioned in previous email because I noticed that the number of sites related to other problem solving techniques are outweigh the number of TRIZ sites due to lack of TRIZ awareness, knowledge, training, source allocation and practicing.

Regarding to sharing the TRIZ resources, I am looking for informative resources in English related to TRIZ technical tools used especially in management but they are very rare and not available online, I do appreciate if you provide me the links of relevant resources and I will pay to get them. I bought Darell Mann book "Hands on Systematic Innovation for Business and Management" which is actually very impressive book.

(3) I would like to allow me to suggest to do the following stages in WTSP project in order to figure out the strategies required to enhance / contribute to the WTSP project:

1- Identification Stage -

- Prepare SWOT analysis for WTSP project
- Define WTSP's requirements and priorities
- Define the WTSP's resources
- Research potential prospects, relevant targets and identify their expectations.

2- Advertising Stage -

- Promote the WTSP's image by:

developing core communication tool (vision, mission, services, strategies, accomplishments ...)
developing communication campaign (Events, workshops, webinars, face-to-face, direct mailing, social media, press release, networking, ...).

- Develop concepts notes or proposals as a response of the needs resulted from identification stage
- Research of new channels interested in TRIZ
- Doing agreements and alliances between WTSP project and relevant academic, civil, local, international institutions to achieve the WTSP's vision.
- Prepare MAIN database of TRIZ resources, liaison channels, courses, types, ... under the supervision of WTSP Project and Osaka Gakuin University.

3- Monitoring and Evaluation Stage -

- Prepare quarterly tracking and reporting
- Review status of pending and confirmed agreements and networking
- Review WTSP's action plan as necessary based on results.

Your instructions are always welcomed; Together ! Connected !!

Thank you for your message and am sorry for my delay in response.

I agree about the present situations you mentioned in (2).   And I think the WTSP Catalog of TRZ-related sites will show us such resources you want.

The 'Identification Stage' you mentioned in (3) is important for WTSP at moment. I think I have written about most of the items in your list already in my various WTSP documents posted in my site. Could you please write them down in your own way?

The tasks you listed up in '2- Advertising Stage' seem to me much larger than I plan.
As you see we started our WTSP project last December and already prepared for sample documents (for the case of Japan).   But we actually have made very little progress in writing the introductions of TRIZ-related sites.
It is important to get voluntary Members who would visit various sites and write the introductions on them.

Looking forward to hearing from you again,
Best wishes, Toru
