Professor Cavallucci's group (INSA Strasbourg) started with classical TRIZ, introduced OTSM while inviting Nikolai Khomenko, and then built their own IDM (Inventive Design Method) so as to handle real complex problems in industries.  They also built the STEPS software for implementing their methodology. We can learn much with the paper and the slides.

Walter Hermans ==> Toru Nakagawa on 'softTRIZ' and CrePS Dec. 28, 2018

Dear Mr. Nakagawa, I received your name as a reference from Mr. S. D. Savransky, a Russian author of TRIZ, living in the United States of America, upon asking information on, so called, ‘softTRIZ’, that is TRIZ applied to analyzing problems in psychology and social sciences.

I know that Mr Jack Hipple, a chemical engineer and the author of a book on TRIZ ‘The ideal result’, living in Tampa, Florida, US, has put available for free on the internet “12 lessons for applying TRIZ in management and business”, which points to applying the TRIZ-principles of Altshuller’s  books ‘Creativity as an exact science’ and his (introductory) ‘Suddenly the inventor appeared’.

I believe that you are well aware of the work of Miss Ellen Domb (editor) and of her publication of an TRIZ -Journal (in English) as well as of the existence of the Belgian company CREAX (Ieper/Kortrijk). See: https://www.creax.com/en/home

And, as such, of her former director Mr. Simon Dewulf, its (now acting) director of AULIVE in Australia (in particular in ‘NSW’). See: https://rocketreach.co/simon-dewulf-aulive-email_28175101 & www.aulive.com – and AULIVE | Online Inspiration

I also have learned that you have succesfully integrated the use of TRIZ and of USIT in your new system of CPS, called “CrePS”. (Any further in depth information which you might hold about ‘CrePS’, not stated on your website, will be most appreciated!)

Your website is extensive and I will screen it thoroughly, but, any information of the psyche of humans engaged in the process of (creative) problem solving (CPS) is most welcome. (Altshuller spoke already about ‘inertia’ in (C)PS, if my memory is correct.)

Have a nice day!   Kind regards,
Walter Hermans (An independent researcher (Being a retired high school teacher))

Thank you for your message. The people you cited are my good friends for many years. I had email communications with Dr. Savransky in 1999 but I had no chance of meeting him.

Here are some references in my Web site TRIZ Home Page in Japan":

On CrePS/USIT Methodology:
"CrePS (General Methodology of Creative Problem Solving) beyond TRIZ: What, Why, and How?" Toru Nakagawa, TRIZCON2016, New Orleans, Mar. 2-5, 2016 Posted in THPJ on Jun 20, 2016 .

On the application of TRIZ/CrePS to social problems:
Introduction/Summary (Social Problems): "Principal Contradiction of Human Culture and Solution Directions : ‘Liberty vs Love’ and Ethics " Toru Nakagawa, Summary of Papers, Written on Oct. 6, 2018; Posted in "TRIZ Home Page in Japan", on Dec. 13, 2018

Starting with the above 2 articles, you can access to a large number of my papers/articles.
The Entrance page for Students and the General public shows introductions to many articles in the "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" in a well categorized manner.
Hope you find my Web site useful for you to learn TRIZ and its further, up-to-date extentions.
Best wishes, Toru

Walter Hermans ==> Toru Nakagawa on 'softTRIZ' and CrePS Dec. 28, 2018

Dear Toru, Thank you very much for your quick and informative reply which is most appreciated! I will read attentively both papers which you have cited. Should I have any further questions coming up regarding your ‘CrePS’, I hope that you will allow me to contact you again on that matter. (So far, I considered the ‘AULIVE-procedure’ as being basic!)

A preliminary remark though which may be based on a mistaken conception of mine about the nature of a TRIZ-contradiction: A TRIZ-contradiction states an ‘OR/OR-relationship’, while a solution to the ‘Love and Liberty’-problem, in my view, should be preferably re/FRAMED into an ‘AND/AND-relationship’, eventually in an ‘AND/OR-relationship’ with (a number of) constraints putting rightfully (a/some) limit(s) and stress(es) on both ‘liberty/ies’ and ‘love’ (or ‘friendship’).

- I will verify if I am wrong on conceptualizing the matter in this way. In addressing societal problems one, in my opinion, often meets an absolutist instead of a relative/relativistic reasoning while trying to solve these problems. Such practical constraints may be partially be found in our human animal(istic) nature -See Evolutionary psychology.- which consists of desires as well as of reasoning/s..

(To be literally correct you state the problem as “ ‘Liberty vs Love’ and Ethics ", which could read out as “ ‘Liberty and/or Love’ and Ethics ”.)

Have a(nother) great day! With the very best wishes, Walter

Toru (Feb. 5, 2019):

Sorry but I didn't write a reply.  What Walter meant in the above discussion is understandable but applicable to simple cases.  Actually the Principal Contradiction 'Liberty vs Love' is much more complex.  Mainly because it contains contradictions 'Liberty vs Liberty' and 'Love vs. Love' inside 'Liberty vs Love' and also because there are a huge varieties and depth of hierarchical structures of human groups/organizations.

Once somebody asked me "Which type of technical contradiction or physical contradiction in TRIZ can we understand the 'Liberty vs Love' contradiction ?".  The concept of TRIZ contradictions is very much simple to understand the Principal Contradiciton of Human Culture.

- TRIZ Paper: Computational Creativity: Path to Future Civilization (Valeri Tsourikov)
Keynote talk at TRIZfest2014 Conference, Prague, Sept. 5, 2014; Japanese translation by Toru Nakagawa
Dr. Tsourikov started Invention Machine Project in mid 1980s and built the TechOptimizer software, which contributed much to the sensational debut of TRIZ in late 1990s in US, Europe, Japan, etc.   He also developed a 'prototype software which assists inventions'; his thoughts, however, seemed to be too early at that time.   He left IMC in 2001.  After 13 years of interval he presented this Keynote in 2014.  He said: "Artificial Intelligence is surely going to supercede human brains. It is natural and inevitable. AI will supercede much higher pretty soon.  AI techniques will handle not only practical and formalizable jobs (as many people say) but also creative jobs like inventions (in contrary to sayings by many) much better than human brains.   As the results of my research for these 20 years, I have already built such a prototype.
