Editor's Note (Toru Nakagawa, Apr. 18, 2020)

As you all know Mr. Genrikh S. Altshuller (1926 - 1998) is the originator of TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problems Solving).  The "Official Altshuller Foundation" site has been operated by his deceased family (including Late Mrs. Valentina Zhuravlyova (wife), Mrs. Larisa Komarcheva (daughter-in-law), and Ms. Yuna Komarcheva (granddaughter)) as the copyrights holder (Yuna).  The site opens officially the extensive Archives of the works by Mr. G. Altshuller and Mrs. V. Zhuravlyova.

The "Official Altshuller Foundation" site is shown, of course, at the top of World TRIZ Sites Catalog (A)  in our World WTSP Catalogs.  We wish to show you a close introduction of this Most Important site in our Catalogs.

So, on Feb. 28, I asked the site owner Larisa Komarcheva to write a thorough introduction of the site.
On Mar. 9, she replied me with the Site Description in our standard form (b) and her explanation on "Why was this Website created".
On Mar. 12, I asked her again to write a closer introduction of the site, citing typical questions which many readers would like to learn from the site.

In mid April we had a few turns of communications with Larisa, with the help by Michael Orloff in bidirectional translation between Russian and English.  Larisa is currently very busy in working with telecommuting, and it will take much time for her to prepare a thorough Site Introduction.  So we have agreed to post our Feb. - Mar. communications here, and to post the Larisa's reply in our World WTSP Catalog on a temporary basis.

Toru Nakagawa ==> Larisa Komarcheva ("The official foundation of G.S. Altshuller", Russia) Feb. 28, 2020

Dear Larisa Komarcheva, Hello, how are you?

As you know, we have been working in the WTSP Project to build "World TRIZ-related Sites Catalogs" for proliferating TRIZ further in the world.
Current active version of the WTSP Catalogs is shown in my "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" with URL:

Two weeks ago, I sent you and many WTSP Members/supporters two emails, [WTSP] Letter (17M-1AB) and "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" Updated (Feb. 13, 2020).

(1) Could you please write a Site Introduction of your Web site?

Your site, "The official foundation of G.S. Altshuller" is listed, of course, at the top of our WTSP Catalog.
Since your site is original, unique, and intensive/extensive, many TRIZ experts and users in the world want to read many articles in it.

We have 3 stages of describing a site:

(a) Single line in the Index table of the WTSP Catalogs
--- done for your site.

(b) Site Description in the Standard Format (about 1 page of A4 size):
--- Please fill in the Format attached here.

(c) Close introduction of the site in a free format (about 2-5 pages of A4): Describe remarkable features and articles. Introduce important/useful articles briefly and attach hyperlinks to them.
--- Please write Site Introduction at this level also. Please choose some style you think best fit for your site.

Since your site is mostly written in Russian, please write (b) and (c) first in Russian for Russian people. And then adjust it and translate it into English for all the people in the world.
Many people, including myself, unfortunately can't read Russian, and hence your site introduction in English is valuable.
It will serve much for us to understand the life time contributions by Mr. Genrihk S. Altshuller.

By the way, how is the situations of your operating the site?

I visited your site again today. It seems to me that your News section does not show recent articles. When did you write the REPORT OF THE OFFICIAL G.S. ALTSHULLER FOUNDATION ?

Articles written in English seem to be very few. Do you have supports by some of the TRIZ groups?

Looking forward to hearing from you,   Best wishes, Toru

  Larisa Komarcheva ==> TN   Feb. 28, 2020

Dear Toru Nakagawa, my English is bad, but I will try. Best regards, Larisa

Toru Nakagawa ==> Larisa Komarcheva Feb. 28, 2020

Dear Larisa,

Glad to hear from you, and thank you so much for your going to write the Site Introduction.

We think our WTSP Catalogs should be made in two forms:

one for each Country WTSP Catalog (in your case, Russia WTSP Catalog) in the country's own language for the people in the country and
the other, the World WTSP Catalog containing (selected) sites in the whole world written in English for all the people in the world.

Thus please write your Site Introduction in Russian first, and then adjust it into the Site Introduction in English for the World Catalog.

Please get some help in English translation, if necessary.

Thank you so much again, Best wishes, Toru

Larisa Komarcheva ==> TN   Mar. 9, 2020      Reply:  Site Description; Why was this Website created

Dear mr. Nakagava, thank you for your smart efforts to promote TRIZ worldwide.

(a) Concerning updating of information, you asked:

Only works by Genrikh Altshuller and Valentina Zhuravlyova are posted on this site.
Because, unfortunately, they have passed away, we will not be able to replenish their works.
Almost everything that can be made publicly available at the moment has been published.
This is the reason for the lack of news.

(b) See the description, you asked, at the attached file.

The Official G.S. Altshuller Foundation, together with the Rights Holders of the Altshuller copyrights, created this website so that anyone can find amongst all the above of the original texts of the creator of TRIZ-RTV-TRTL, Genrikh Saulovich Altshuller (15 October 1926 – 24 September 1998).

That is one of the goals behind the creation of the website and the G.S. Altshuller Foundation: to present the undistorted (reference) works of G.S. Altshuller to the users of the theory he created.

(c) WHY WAS THIS WEBSITE CREATED:

Briefly put:

To serve as a reference point for people interested in learning about TRIZ independently;
To present the undistorted (or sometimes little-known) works of G.S. Altshuller to users and developers of the theory.

If you will post "TRIZ", a search engine gives you numerous links to materials including the abbreviation TRIZ (the Theory of Inventive Problems Solving).  Some links will bring you to high-quality materials, some to weak materials, some to careless hack-work, some to pirates, and some to materials that have nothing to do with TRIZ at all. Such is today's Internet.

The Official G.S. Altshuller Foundation, together with the Rights Holders of the Altshuller copyrights, created this website, so anyone can able to find amongst all the above of the original texts of the creator of TRIZ - RTV - TRTL, Genrikh Saulovich Altshuller (15 October 1926 – 24 September 1998).
That is one of the goals behind the creation of the website and the G.S. Altshuller Foundation: to present the undistorted (reference) works of G.S. Altshuller to the users of the theory he created.

There is a well-known contradiction:
       on the one hand, science can not be held in secret, and so information about TRIZ must be made available;
on the other hand, it is imperative to show due respect to the rights and good name of authors, including the authors of scientific works. Otherwise, the hard work of authors will be undervalued, and their work distorted.

This is just a small step.  Nonetheless, we hope to resolve this problem as follows:

A large part of the original texts of the creator of TRIZ, G.S. Altshuller, is lawfully made available on the official website.  Now they are available to anyone for personal and noncommercial (i.e. scientific) use.

At the same time, we would like to make the following points clear:

If you would like to increase the number of people who have read the works of G.S. Altshuller, just send them a link to this website: http://www.altshuller.ru – the official site of G.S. Altshuller, creator of TRIZ - RTV - TRTL.

But, if you want to increase the number of copies (i.e. to publish these materials on paper or electronically, to publish them on your website, etc.), you must write by e-mail to foundation@altshuller.ru and conclude a written copyright contract.

Solving the contradiction mentioned above, between the availability of information and its lawful use, is the second goal behind the creation of this website and the Official G.S. Altshuller Foundation.

Concerning updating of information:

Only works by Genrikh Altshuller and Valentina Zhuravlyova are posted on this site.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to replenish their works.
Almost everything that can be made publicly available at the moment has been published.
This is the reason for the lack of [recent] news.

TN ==> Larisa Komarcheva        Mar. 12, 2020     Further request with typical questions

Dear Larisa,

Thank you very much for your reply, site description in our standard format, and your explanation on 'Why was this Web site created'.

I understand that your site is dedicated to record and present the works by Mr. Genrikh Altshuller and Mrs. Valentina Zhuravlyova in their original and non-distorted forms.

The purpose of our WTSP Catalogs is to guide people to many good and reliable sites related to TRIZ and relevant methodologies around TRIZ (in a much wider sense).

In the WTSP Catalogs people want to learn what sort of articles are posted in each site, who wrote the articles, in which fields, on which topic, and what are the new findings, etc.

The Catalogs should show fair and correct introduction to the articles and should show the URLs not only to the site itself but to various important articles in the site.

For this purpose, the Site Description (b) in our standard form is (still) very rough.
Hence I am asking you and many other site owners to write Site Introduction (c) in more detail in some style appropriate for each site.

If you have some (editorial or original) article pages for such introduction in your site, you may use them after some adjustments.
Please show the Site Description (or Site Introduction) first in Russian, and then in English.

More specifically:

(a) We would like to learn the whole life of Mr. Genrikh Altshuller (and Mrs. Valentina Zhuravlyova).

Are there such articles/pages in the site?

(b) We suppose there are a huge number of documents (such as books, papers, articles, communications, etc.) written by him or received and recorded by him.

Are there some introduction or overview articles/pages suitable for us to read ?
-- Summary page of list of important/selected articles/pages?

(c) We would like to learn how TRIZ (and RTV, TRTL) concepts, methods, knowledge bases, applications, etc. were obtained and developed in history over 50 years.

Are there some introduction or overview articles/pages suitable for us to read?
Are there some introduction or overview articles/pages handling any specific topics in TRIZ (and relevant methods)?

(d) We learn that several TRIZ Masters built the TRIZ BOK (TRIZ Body of Knowledge) and publicized it already. It contains many papers and various knowledge obtained by Mr. Altshuller and many of his followers, even including later extensions where Mr. Altshuller did not involve personally.

Are there some introduction or overview articles/pages discussing the range of BOK where Mr. Altshuller involved or represented personally/actively?

(e) I suppose that in Russian there are various articles/pages in relation to (a)-(d) mentioned above.

How about in English?
Could you please show us good articles/pages in English in relation to (a)-(d)?

(f) I suppose there are various sites in the world where many followers wrote (either together with Mr. Altshuller or independently) or translated (into English and some other languages) the articles/pages in relation to (a) -(d).

Are there any pages where you listed such sites you think reliable?

(g) I think the introductory or overview articles mentioned in (a)-(d) may be written sometimes by Mr. Altshuller or by Mrs. Zhuravlyova but more often written by yourself or by some other followers.

I think it is natural and quite important for the Official Altshuller Foundation to post such articles newly reflecting on-going research of the original works done by Mr. Altshuller and Mrs. Zhuravlyova.

It is not replenishing their works but studying and finding the significance of their works.

Posting such new articles (by yourself and by some other people) should be nice to keep the Official Altshuller Foundation site active and alive, and hence the original works by Mr. Altshuller still alive in the present world.

I sincerely wish to include 'Attractive and Useful' description of your official site in our World WTSP Catalogs.

Best wishes, Toru
