WTSP Project:  Call for Contributions to the World WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites

TN  ==>  LinkedIn   (especially 'TRIZ and Innovation' Group)    Feb. 2, 2023

Call for Contributions to the WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites in the World (Gamma Edition, Sept. 2023). See Instructions and References.

Toru Nakagawa (WTSP Project Leader, Osaka Gakuin University)

An official page of "Call for Contributions"  has been posted on "TRIZ Home Page in Japan", It contains the Instructions and References in detail for the WTSP Country Teams and Site Owners to prepare the contribution.

Preface,
1. General References to the WTSP Project and the WTSP Catalogs,
2. Basic Instructions and References for the Preparation of each Manuscript of the WTSP Catalogs,
3. Contribution of Manuscripts of the Country Part to the World WTSP Catalogs,
4. Description of Individual Website by the Site Owners,
5. Schedule for Submission of Manuscripts and Completion of the New Edition.

Some additional Notes:

Please form a WTSP Team in every country of the world. We want TRIZ leaders/experts to lead the Team and TRIZ practitioners/users to work in the Team. Such Team work is most needed in countries that are active in TRIZ but do not appear in the current edition of the World WTSP Catalogs (e.g., Italy, France, Taiwan, Korea, ... etc.), then in countries where TRIZ is emerging recently (e.g., Poland, India, ... etc.), and also in many countries where TRIZ s is beginning to spread (e.g., Iran, Thailand, Brazil, ... etc.).

Even the countries with some data appearing in the current Catalogs need WTSP Team activities to update the old data and to improve their country parts (e.g., Japan, Russia, Belarus, USA, Malaysia, China, UK, and Germany).

Site Owners are all invited to write the introduction of their own sites in the WTSP Standard Form. Such an introduction in the WTSP Catalogs is advantageous for making the sites (together with their works/business) known all over the world (for free!).

The one-page table of the Standard Form allows only 5-10 lines for a free-format description of the site. Thus, we give the Site Owners an additional opportunity to introduce the site in detail in a separate file. They can write in free format on 2 - 20+ pages, using tables, figures, photos, etc.  This option allows Site Owners to show their sites (◎○) at their full strength, by choosing some appropriate style. If a Site Owner submits the full introduction (b) & (c), it will be published on "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" as an independent article.

The Team will make the World WTSP Catalogs "Useful" with well-edited Country Parts, and the Site Owners will make them "Attractive" with their unique Site Introductions.

We wish you to work Together ! Connected !! for making our new edition of World WTSP Catalogs "Useful & Attractive" !!!

[WTSP] Letter (33M-4) Call for Contributions: Instructions and References (Toru Nakagawa)

I have updated "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" on Jan. 31. The main topic is the official announcement of " Call for Contributions to the WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites in the World (Gamma Edition, Sept. 2023)". Instructions and References are given in detail for guiding the WTSP Teams and Site Owners for the preparation of submitting manuscripts. Here I will quote my posting on LinkedIn, because it is written in a compact way.   ==> See above

[WTSP] Letter (33C-2XX)  XXCountry Part of World WTSP Catalogs -- Call for Contributions

Dear TRIZ colleagues in XXCountry,        (Brief list of colleagues in XXCountry).

Feb. 4, 2023     Toru Nakagawa (OGU, Leader of WTSP)

How are you? and how about the people working with TRIZ in your country?

As you know we have been working to create and improve the WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ and Around-TRIZ Sites in the world.    This year, we are going to make our best effort for establishing the Catalogs of TRIZ Sites by the collaborative work of the TRIZ community over the world.

Could you please contribute
a manuscript of XXCountry Part of World WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites (by a WTSP Team of XXCountry) and
introductions of each website (by the Site Owners)
in the Standard Form (one A4 page) for the sites (◎○□) and
(optionally) in free format in detail (2-20+ pages) for the sites (◎○).

Please refer to our official announcement of "Call for Contributions to the WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites in the World"  (also attached here in PDF )    It is a compact but full document for Instructions and References for the WTSP activities.

Everybody is busy in their jobs, we know. But
Collaborative work for your Country Part of the Catalogs, and
your Introductions of your own sites
will make the World Catalogs "Useful and Attractive" for many people in your country and over the world.

Looking forward to hearing from XXCountry.
Best wishes, Toru

 Michael Orloff (Global Co-editor)  ==> TN       A question            Feb. 6, 2023

I would like to study all the catalogs for WTSP ready to put into one "large" table, maybe simplified for first look, to get it in more readable style for readers as I think.
How could I collect all the existing catalogs? And after that, maybe, to put all TRIZ-sites in one table.
I would like to understand the next:
     1) how many countries and TRIZ-sites are included in catalogs already?
     2) what should be done more for WTSP-catalogs to complete them?

 Michael Orloff ==> TN       A question            Feb. 8, 2023

Today I have tried to collect the catalogs of WTSP with countries (I remember, that I have seen it not so far) and have not found them.

TN  ==> Michael Orloff     CC: Global Co-editors            Feb. 9, 2023

Thank you for your message. Here are answers to your inquiry:

(1) All the Manuscripts used in the current World WTSP Catalogs are listed in the page of "World WTSP Catalogs: Top Page"

Especially see its section "Access to the Manuscript Catalogs Contributed by Countries and SIGs and Obtained by Top-down Surveys"
As you see there are various forms of contributed manuscripts.
(1) Contributed by Countries: Japan, China, Malaysia, Russian Region. UK, Germany
(2) Internet surveys of TRIZ sites: TN2A (all countries in the world), TN2F (USA)
(3) Internet surveys of Around-TRIZ sites all countries in the world.

(2) Manuscripts contributed but not yet incorporated in the World Catalogs:

See the page: "Current Status of the Survey Results of WTSP World TRIZ Sites" (Nov. 20, 2021)
TRIZ Sites surveyed in 52 Individual countries.
40 countries of them were processed for selecting good sites.
    Leaving 12 countries not processed.
Later UK and Germany are processed, and shown in (1) above.
The countries not processed yet are:
France, Italy. Korea, Taiwan -- these are important
Belgium, Poland, Sweden, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Australia,

It is important to form WTSP Teams in the countries, whose websites are already shown in the WTSP Catalogs, i.e.  Japan, Russia, Belarus, USA, Malaysia, China, UK, and Germany, and to update/improve their descriptions (by forming WTSP Teams).
WTSP Team means autonomous, self-growing activities in individual countries. We need good coordinators who take the leadership in each country. This is a big challenge to overcome in each country.

Country Parts of World WTSP Catalogs should be built by the WTSP Teams of the countries. I will not try to build them, except for sample cases.

By the way, I am not going to arrange the websites in the World WTSP Catalogs according to the countries. I have chosen the Evaluation, and then Roles of site for arranging the sites in our Catalogs.  What do you think?

(a2) is similar but posts selected articles authored by (various) other groups in addition to their own.

(2) Please refer to our "Call for Contributions" on our website or the PDF file attached here. Please prepare your introduction manuscripts to be "Useful and Attractive" for a huge number of readers/users (and for yourselves).

(3) Please write an introduction to your site by filling out the WTSP Standard Form (one A4 page), which is attached here. This is mandatory for all the sites (◎○□) listed in the WTSP Catalogs.

   Responses from Various Countries

Shahid Saleem Arshad (Australia) ==> TN                    Feb. 7

Dear Prof. Nakagawa, I hope you are well. Thank you for your email.
I do not have a ready answer yet to your query. My TRIZ activities are somewhat sparse at this time. I am hopeful of ramping up activities in this sphere during this new year 2023 and depending on the outcome will keep you informed.
With best wishes, Shahid

Helena Navas (Portugal) ==> TN                                   Feb. 10

Dear colleague Prof. Toru Nakagawa,
As you know, I work in TRIZ. However, in Portugal we do not have any specific TRIZ website. In Portugal, the TRIZ community is very small, but it is slowly increasing.
I am always available to collaborate with TRIZ colleagues around the world.
Kind regards,    Helena Navas

TN ==> Helena Navas CC: Luis Novo, Sajjad Nazidizaji Feb. 11

Thank you for your response message.
We would like to include at least one website for each country. Please submit the information of some (university/repository/association/conference/blog) site which you think best as the information source of TRIZ (or Systematic Innovation) in your country.
Thank you for your collaboration, Best wishes, Toru

Xavier Lepot (Belgium) ==> TN                Feb. 11

Dear Pr Nagakawa san, Thanks for your mail and your kind request. I hope my answer will find you in great shape.

Since I joined the university UCLouvain for leading research support in 2020, I did not have the time nor the opportunity to make some real TRIZ work. I regret this as this activity is so grateful in mind satisfaction.
But just before, I had the opportunity to help Dr Vincent Lenaerts and Bernard Rausin from HELMO to develop their own version of TRIZ-based training for their students in Engineering within HELMO. It is called TRIIP, which is a very well chosen name for the imagination travel that their students achieve in machine design. And I am sure they would enjoy to provide more information about it.
Best regards Xavier Lepot

TN ==> Xavier Lepot                                      Feb. 11

Dear Xavier, Thank you for your message, with some new activities in HELMO.
Please communicate with TRIZ colleagues in your country. The more people get involved in any project, the more energy we get, and the better results we achieve.

Dear TRIZ colleagues in Sweden,   Dr. Mats Nordlund, Linus Wretblad

(See the text in .)

PS:    I personally owe much to Dr. Mats Nordlund. It was May 31, 1997 that Dr. Nordlund gave a vivid talk on TRIZ at a small seminar in Tokyo to us about 30 business persons. It was my first encounter with TRIZ, and TRIZ has come to be my life work since then. Dr. Nordlund is the genuine evangelist of TRIZ for me.    Thanks.

Mats Nordlund (Sweden) ==> TN    Feb. 13

Dear Professor Nakagawa, Thank you so much for your email.

I was delighted to hear from you. I have been following all your excellent work for many years and what you have accomplished is very impressive.

Since about 2010, I have not been working actively with TRIZ, as I then was transferred to some international location with a very heavy executive responsibility - i.e., there was no possibility for me to work in the actual innovation work. However, I did introduce TRIZ into Chalmers University where a course was taught for a while.

At the moment, I am working in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) at AI Sweden https://www.ai.se/en (which I established). AI certainly has a lot of potential when it comes to innovation. I have a feeling that a combination of generative AI models and TRIZ can really become powerful, and would be a very interesting research initiative. An example of results of generative design has been shown by AIrbus https://adsknews.autodesk.com/news/autodesk-airbus-generative-design-aerospace-factory
I am sure there are similar examples in Japan.

So, I am very sorry to say that I may not be able to help much with the quest you set up here as I am not currently up to date on the TRIZ community here. I hope Linus can provide some insights and support.
Kind regards -Mats

Linus Wretblad (Sweden) ==> TN   Feb. 13

Dear Nakagawa-San,
Many thanks for reaching out on the matter of TRIZ and how to use patent data in a wider sense to boost and assist R&D work as well as business development. It is indeed a very powerful and useful instrument in i.a. problems solving. I could not say to be a TRIZ expert today merely using it earlier from a general innovation advising perspective giving training to companies on boosting R&D works and enable aligned IP strategies.

However, have used the TRIZ model as an inspiration to drive even further use of the structured and configured patent data behind it namely to address reinvention problematics. Indeed, as Mats indicates we see that a combination of generative AI models and TRIZ is a powerful concept, where we did research from the angle that one major concern was the fact that a majority of all innovation projects actually are duplicating already existing concepts, due to the fact that more a than 80% of technology know-how is hidden in patent but too complex to explore and understand without special expertise. Hence, we used AI to assist people to using "regular" text and speech to bridge to search, analyze and quantify relevant results to present also an innovation dashboard, with trends, competitors and pointing out/explain what text paragraph to start reading and why. This AI project was supported by Vinnova (https://www.vinnova.se/p/ip-canvas---a-platform-for-automated-patent-prior-art-screening-and-ai-enhanced-decision-support/) in Sweden and Eurostar in Europe, now a launched product called IPscreener (www.ipscreener.com) Even though a somewhat different approach it maybe is of interest as well in your collection of applications.

For more explicit examples of TRIZ in Sweden with more hands on experiences and being certified in TRIZ as well, I would refer to e.g. Sofia Målberg https://www.linkedin.com/in/sofia-m%C3%A5lberg-a49bb135/ responsible for innovation management at SISP (national Swedish incubator association) and Vincent Schaller https://www.linkedin.com/in/vincent-schaller/ senior project manager at RISE (Swedish national research institute).

If I may be of any further assistance, do let me know and I am happy explore my networks further. Kind regards, Linus

TN ==> Mats Nordlund, Linus Wretblad     Feb. 14

Dear Mats and Linus, Thank you very much for your messages.

(1) As you both write, generative AI model or AI designing has emerged to be so powerful. Val Tsourikov's Keynote Lecture at TRIZfest 2014 "Computational Creativity: Path to Future Civilization" was very impressive, and I posted it on my website both in English and in Japanese translation. Such field is to be included in the WTSP Catalogs of Around-TRIZ websites.

(2) Some people say, the WTSP Project should use AI for making the World WTSP Catalogs of good TRIZ websites. Internet surveys may be improved to collect more sites and sellect them (slightly) better with number of pages having the specified keywords. But unfortunately, I think, the curent AI is still weak in introducing the web contents prpoerly and to evaluate their value with our specific criteria. So we now rely on the capability of TRIZ colleagues and on the human networks.

(3) We should appreciate it very much if you could find any researchers and practitioners working in TRIZ in Sweden.

(4) Please allow me to post the communications with you on the 'Communication Forum for the WTSP Project' page in my website.
Best wishes. Toru

Invitation to Regional Editors of Middle East and Africa

TN  ==> Adehi Guehika, Khaled Shoaib, CC: Michael Orloff     Invitation    Feb. 6, 2023

Hello,     Professor Michael Orloff introduced to me both of you as his excellent students and colleagues.

As you have learnt from Prof. Orloff, we have been working for WTSP (World TRIZ-related Sites Project) for these 5+ years.
WTSP has a vision of establishing Catalogs of TRIZ and Around-TRIZ (i.e., Creative Problem-Solving Methodologies in general) Websites in the World. Such WTSP Catalogs should be valuable as reliable (and relatively-stable) source of information about various methods which aim at creativity and innovation.

This is a vision achievable only with international and interdisciplinary collaboration by many researchers and practitioners over the world.
Would you please join us? Professor Orloff, the most active WTSP Global Co-editor, will guide you.

For your reference, I attach here our invitation letter, [WTSP] Letter (33C-2BR), to TRIZ colleagues in Brazil, just as an example.

Khaled Shoaib (Egypt) ==> TN   CC: Michael Orloff, Adehi Guehika,    Feb. 10

Dear Prof. Nakagawa, It is indeed a great honor and pleasure to write to you and thank you very much for your kind invitation; really it is appreciated.

Actually I heard a lot about your promising project from my great superior, Prof. Orloff who taught and transfer me his wonderful experience of universal methodology of innovation like Modern TRIZ. Now I'm lucky and proud to contact again a great professor from Japan after my wonderful achievements with great innovators from Hitachi Energy, Japan in the field of power generation.

Nevertheless, TRIZ methodology achieved remarkable progress in many countries but is still moving slowly and mysterious for many countries in Middle East and Africa but I'm sure that, WTSP will be a good indication and evidence to forward TRIZ in region in comparison with others who achieved remarkable success based on TRIZ.

Anyway, I'll coordinate with Prof. Orloff then revert to you.
Thanks in advance and my best wishes to you and to our mentioned collogues in this email.
Sincerely, Khaled Shoaib

TN  ==> Khaled Shoaib, CC: Michael Orloff, Adehi Guehika,          Feb. 10, 2023

Dear Khaled,   Thank you very much for your positive reply message.

We are very happy to welcome you as an active member in our WTSP Project.
Creating the WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ and Around-TRIZ Websites in the World is a big project which can be achieved only by the collaboration of many leaders and pioneers in such broad fields .

As you write, methods like TRIZ may not be known well in the countries especially in Middle East and Africa. Nevertheless, there are a number of pioneers who learned TRIZ (and related methods) and are working to apply them and proliferating them.
We should make network of such people and form Teams in various countries. Catalogs of websites are in parallel with the networks of people/groups/organizations.

We wish you to work with Prof. Orloff in our WTSP Project.
Thanks again and Best wishes,   Toru

Adehi Guehika (Canada) ==> TN  CC: Michael Orloff, Khaled Shoaib,                 Feb. 15

Dear Prof. Nakagawa,
It is a real honor to join the WTSP Project. Prof Orloff constantly and deeply advised and guided me. I will actively participate in the progress and WTSP Catalogs successful evolution.

I'm currently living and working here in Canada and also started looking on TRIZ companies or projects in Africa's (Sub-Saharan) countries. I noticed that there is no real initiative in this matter. However, I believe there is a great opportunity to build and leverage the first TRIZ local ecosystem in those African (Sub-Saharan) countries and then include the motivated participants in the Catalog. I have also identified some companies here in Canada and I am collecting relevant information for the WTSP Catalog.

Thanks again for your great efforts and all your dedicated times you put on this project. I will contribute under Prof Orloff guidance, on my side with the best that I can.
Sincerely, Adehi Guehika,

TN ==> Adehi Guehika, Khaled Shoaib  CC: Michael Orloff,   Feb. 15

Dear Adehi and Khaled,
Thank you very much, Adehi, for your decision of joining us in the WTSP Project. We are very happy that both Kahled and Adehi are very positive for working to build the World WTSP Catalogs.

(1) Now, would you please fill out the WTSP Membership Application Form, which is atached here.

(2) We will appreciate if you also serve as Regional Editors of Middle East and Africa. Please communicate with Prof. Orloff which region Khaled and Adehi will each cover. Please note to find some other colleagus in such countries and work together for WTSP, even if they have slightly different approaches in the field of TRIZ (in a broad sense).

I know you both are now living in Canada. Since there are several other TRIZ Colleagues in Canada, as I wrote in my mail [WTSP] Letter (33C-2CA), please communicate with them and work together in the WTSP Team in Canada.

Thanking you and welcoming you,    Best wishes, Toru

PS:  Please allow me to post the recent communication with you in the WTSP Forum page in "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".

Call for Contributions to the WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites in the World (Gamma Edition, Sept. 2023). Our New Regional Editors of Middle East and Africa

Since my last posting (Feb. 8), I have sent the "Call for Contributions to the World WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites" to 4 more countries (Ireland, Austria, Portugal, and Belgium), and owners of excellent websites (◎○) with the roles of (a) Information sending, (b) Promoter organizations, (e) Method developers and consultants, and (e5) Training organizations.

We are now looking forward to manuscripts of various country parts of the WTSP Catalogs prepared by country teams and attractive introductions of excellent websites written by the site owners.

Among a variety of responses, the communications with Dr. Mats Nordlund (Sweden) are important to me. It was May 31, 1997, when Dr. Nordlund gave a vivid talk on TRIZ to about 30 business people at a small seminar in Tokyo.  It was my first encounter with TRIZ, and since then TRIZ has become my life's work. He says that he has been following all my work over these many years. He now works in the field of Artificial Intelligence and is especially interested in the combination of generative AI models and TRIZ.

Good newsTwo volunteers are joining us as WTSP Regional Editors. Kharled Shoaib (Egypt) as Regional Editor of Middle East and North Africa (especially in Arabic language), and Dr. Adehi Guehika (now Canada) as Regional Editor of (mostly sub-Saharan) Africa (especially in English and French languages). They will work together with Prof. Michael Orloff (WTSP Global Co-editor). TRIZ colleagues and users in these regions are encouraged to cooperate with these Regional Editors.

WTSP Activities in Korea:  Issues and Suggestions

Min-Gyu Lee (South Korea) ==> TN      CC: 11 TRIZ Colleagues in Korea         Feb. 19, 2023

Dear prof. Nakagawa,  Sorry for replying late.

Based on your initial list from your survey of Korean internet, I made version 0.5 in October and wanted to get feedback and contribution from other TRIZ colleagues in Korea.
But the feedback and contribution was not active enough and this resulted in the slow progress in developing the Korean catalog of WTSP.

I guess that some of the reasons of this low responses are:

- many of them understand the purpose of WTSP but they are busy

- some of them tried to help but there are not so many great TRIZ related sites in Korea.
The biggest part of Korean TRIZ activities are from big companies (like Samsung, LG, Hyundai, SK etc) but their activities are hidden and no web site exists with such information except for company internal sites.
Consulting/training by consulting firms and universities are also active but they have no or only brief web sites.

- Some of the first generation of Korean TRIZ experts and advocates are already passed away, retired or reduced work activities related with TRIZ.
Some early TRIZ communities (bulletin boards, cafe/forum etc) which had rich contents, now became inactive (partially due to the above reasons) or even closed because the service provider has quit the services.

- We have more than 1000 Korean literature on TRIZ (books, academic papers or thesis etc.)
The knowledge of this mainly-academic part of TRIZ activities are shared. But the other part of the knowledge from the industries (companies or consultants) are usually not shared to public or to other professionals.

- The conferences or forums or journals from KOSCA (former KATA) and KTA used to be the best place where we can access TRIZ activities in Korea.
But the articles or presentation materials presented or published there are not open in the web site.

- etc...

Of course, the Korean TRIZ society have also some positive features

- the fastest growth of training/certifications in the world (at least until several years ago) and the most active use of TRIZ in industry. More systematic methodology and coaching, the 10-year-old TRIZ-assisted Government program to help product-innovation of SMEs etc.

While we were trying to develop the Korean Catalog of WTSP, we realized that there are some issues in the Korean TRIZ society and its presence in the web.
We do not share TRIZ related information enough and we are losing some of old but good information and people.

Anyway, with some efforts, now we completed v. 0.7 of Korean catalog.

In this version, we still did not get contributions from the owner or key person of the sites. We will do this after we get feedback (about needed correction etc.) about this version (v.0.7) from you.

I also attached the edited version of your word file with your initial list from the survey, where I classified your entries into several categories which is represented by changing the color of the entry.

The procedure of developing Korean catalog is explained in the 2nd sheet of the excel file.

Please do not upload this version (v. 0.7) in your Japanese TRIZ homepage because we did not still get permission from the owner or key persion of the sites.
I have the email addresss of key people but erased them in this attachement because it can be using personal information before permission.

Maybe we have to limit the scope of our work as small as possible.
It will be difficult for us to make a separate "Around TRIZ" catalog or to get detailed full descriptions for all the sites.

Best regards.     (Alex) Min-Gyu Lee  (Uni Innovation Lab)

TN ==> Min-Gyu Lee      CC: 11 TRIZ Colleagues in Korea         Feb. 20, 2023

Dear Min-Gyu Lee and TRIZ colleagues in Korea,
Thank you very much for your effort of creating the manuscript of WTSP Catalog of Korea (version 0.7) and explaining the situations of TRIZ sites in Korea.

(1) The purpose of the WTSP project is to build an reliable information source of TRIZ (and related methodologies) in various aspects, e.g., methods, applications, activities, documents, etc,, in the world and share it publicly for all the people over the world.
As you write, the TRIZ community in Korea is: the fastest growth of training/certifications, the most active use of TRIZ in industry. More systematic methodology and coaching, the 10-year-old TRIZ-assisted Government program to help product-innovation of SMEs etc.
Many people over the world want to learn how you have achieved these.

(2) It is a common issue in many countries that academic researchers publish their work in different journals and conferences and sometimes do not have their own websites.
These publications are usually covered by university repository, national repository, academic journals, conference proceedings, etc.
Please list up such websites and show URLs to access such publications.

(3) Even more difficult and common issue is that industries who achieved innovative results are apt to hide their processes and methods, and the consultants who assisted the innovation are prohibited by the industries from disclosing their work.
Nevertheless, industry management sometimes give talks, researchers present/publish their works in conferences/ journals, and consultants show case studies.
So we should collect the websites containing such information. Especially, consultants often try to show their methods in a generalized manner with case studies. Openness is one of our WTSP criteria in evaluating websites.

(4) Thank you very much for the version 0.7 of Korea-Index of TRIZ websites. Here are some minor comments:

(a) Set the Site Code in the following order:
TRIZ Sites:    Evaluation ◎ and ○ together;   Evaluation □
    Around-TRIZ Sites:    Evaluation ◎ and ○ together;   Evaluation □
      TRIZ Sites:     Evaluation △
In each group shown above, arrange the sites in the order of (main) Roles of site.

Please rearrange all the sites in the order of the Site Code, at the present stage. If you add any more sites later, arrange them in the order set above, but set their Site Codes behind the last one of the previous sites.

(b) Google Scholar (Search TRIZ+Korea) shoul be evaluated as ◎L , meaning ◎ and listed already in other part (Globally).

(c) If a university (or any other organization) has its repository of papers, then show the repository in the form:     University : Repository     and show the URL of the Repository

(d) In the Index table, please suppress the items: Site name (Korean), Owner/Key person, email, etc.
In the Site description file, please show Site name (Korean) and Owner/Key person. Email may or may not be shown.

(e) If any industrial company has an open subdomain showing TRIZ-releted articles/papers, please list them with the Roles of (h2) Companies, etc.

(5) Please encourage the site owners (espscially consultants and academic people) to write introductions of their sites in the Standard Form (mandatory) and further in free format (desirable for ◎○ sites), to show their unique and important contributions to TRIZ.

(6) This year we will not make our effort on the Catalogs of Around-TRIZ sites.

Many people over the world want to learn from your success with TRIZ in Korea.
Please make Korea Part of the WTSP Catalogs "Useful and Attractive" for people in Korea, people over the world, and for yourselves.

Thanking you for your collaboration,         Best wishes, Toru

WTSP Project:  Plan of the New Year 2023

TN  ==> TRIZ Colleagues and WTSP Members in the World,  Jan. 12, 2023

We hope you have started the New Year 2023 with full of your visions and hopes.

We, WTSP Project, also have started the New Year with our vision and hope:

To build the Gamma Edition of the World WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ and Around-TRIZ Sites and report it at the coming ETRIA TFC2023.

For achieving such a goal, we need to make Country Parts of World WTSP Catalogs (especially for TRIZ Sites) for many countries by mid-April.
It is obvious that the TRIZ leaders/colleagues of each country can best make such Country Part.
We eagerly wish to have your collaboration.

Dear Oleg, Thank you for your message.

I certainly want to include your MATRIZ Official website   in our WTSP Catalogs with the evaluation of ◎ Most important(about top 30 in the world).

Could you please ask somebody to write the introductions of your website in the Standard Form and additionally in a free format ?
Even after posting them in the WTSP Catalogs, you may revise/update the contents whenever you feel necessary.
I will temporary put your website in the Belgium Part of World WTSP Catalogs. (Maybe I will make a new category of Global websites, later).
Please encourage and support your Belgium colleagues to form a WTSP Team and make Belgium Part of World WTSP Catalogs.

I am watching carefully how MATRIZ Official and the old MATRIZ are going forward from now.

I am personally supporting MATRIZ Official.
I do not have information about the intentions of the new Board Members of the old MATRIZ.

Nevertheless, our WTSP project will accept diversities in approaches and movements in the TRIZ (and related) community.

The history will reveal in future which approaches are most significant.
This is our basic stance for building World WTSP Catalogs and for proposing to establish the "Systematic Innovation Reviews" Website.

Best wishes, Toru

        WTSP Activities in Japan

[Note (TN, Jan. 21, 2023):  I have been sending the THPJ Update Announcements to many (currently about 200) people in Japan (in Japanese, of course) regularly since its start in 1998.  Here I will record briefly in English translation of main parts of some of the Announcements/communications. ]

TN  ==>  "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" Update Announcement (Dec. 31, 2022),     Jan. 14, 2023

The New Year 2023 has come with drastic changes over the world and in Japan.  I wish we may be able to re-direct our future of Japan toward peace, happiness, and welfare.

I updated "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" on Dec. 16 and Dec. 31 last year.

[1] WTSP:  Germany Part of World WTSP Catalogs are Built and Posted  (Toru Nakagawa)  Dec. 16, 2022

Visiting the 68 websites, which were detected in my previous Internet survey (May 2021), one by one, I built the Germany Part of World WTSP Catalogs.
It contains    ◎3, ○5, □7, and △3 TRIZ sites and ◎2, ○7, □18, and △6 Around-TRIZ sites.
I am much impressed with the large number of excellent and unique websites.

[2] Full site introduction:  DE-03 ◎ Modern TRIZ Academy website (Michael Orloff, Germany)

Michael Orloff contributed the full site introduction of his website:  in the forms of (b) Site description in the WTSP Standard Form (1 page in A4) and (c) Closer site introduction in a free format (28 pages in A4).
They are included in the Germany Part of World WTSP Catalogs, and also posted as an independent page in the Paper section of "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".

Michael Orloff describes his TRIZ career since his first encounter with Altshuller's book in 1963 at the age of 16.  He explains his concepts of Modern TRIZ in a way easy to understand by using case studies. The full set of his textbooks/handbooks is impressive.  The basic text "Flash TRIZ" (in 50 pages) is published in 12 different languages.

[3] Our tasks are to update/enhance the Japan Part of World WTSP Catalogs

I built the Japan WTSP Catalog in 2018 (Japanese Edition in Mar., and English Edition in Apr.) and readjusted it into "Japan Part of World WTSP Catalogs" in Jul. 2019.  It contains:
TRIZ sites:  ◎ 1, ○ 6, and □ 5 sites (World Catalog), and △ 45 sites (Country Catalog)
Around-TRIZ Sites: ◎ 0, ○ 1, and □ 13 sites (World Catalog), and △ 20 sites (Country Catalog)

The Catalog is now 4-5 years old.  We should update and enhance the whole Catalog, by visiting all the present sites (and adding new ones) and by obtaining site descriptions written by the site owners themselves.

Building 'Useful and Attractive' Catalogs of TRIZ-related websites is good for everybody from experts, practitioners, beginners, and to the unfamlliar to TRIZ, and particularly fruitful for the site owners themselves who contributed useful and attractive site descriptions to the Catalogs.

TN  ==>  33 Promotors and Practitioners of TRIZ in Japan    Jan. 14, 2023

To those who are leading the promotion and practice of TRIZ in Japan:

Earlier today I sent "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" Update Announcement to about 200 people interested in TRIZ in Japan (including all of you).
There I wrote about the current status of the WTSP (World TRIZ-related Sites Project), and about the importance of making the WTSP Catalogs Useful and Attractive.
And I asked for your cooperation in updating and enhancing the Japan Part of the World WTSP Catalogs.

Appreciating that you are leading the promotion and practice of TRIZ in Japan, I would like to ask you for your cooperation in a more concrete manner with the present letter.

First I will show you some important references to the WTSP Project and its Catalogs:

(1) On the WTSP Project and the WTSP Catalogs, please refer to our presentation slides given at Japan TRIZ Symposium 2022
They explain our objectives, policies, structure, building process, case studies, current status, difficulties, future directions, etc.

(2) On our activities and outputs of WTSP, please refer to the English pages of "TRIZ Home Page in Japan"     .

Especially on how to build the Catalogs, please refer to the "Guidelines".

(3) For the actual contents of the "WTSP Catalogues", please refer to the following pages:

Here are some concrete requests for your cooperation:

(4) We want to have some people who will take care of and lead the WTSP activities in Japan.

Individual persons who volunteer to join and work for WTSP are welcome.
Since the Japan TRIZ Society is organized with the mission to promote TRIZ in Japan, it is very welcome that Japan TRIZ Society joins and works actively in the WTSP Project as one of its organizational activities.
(Note that many countries, even active in TRIZ, do not have such a nation-wide organization dedicated to TRIZ.)

Please form Japan WTSP Team with several members, and assign Team Leader(s).

All the Team Members should submit the WTSP Membership Application Form.
The Team Leader(s) are called WTSP Country Editor(s), and are responsible for coordinating the Team in each country and building/editing the Country Part of the World WTSP Catalogs.

(Nakagawa will consult with the Team, of course, but will not be a Member but an Advisor of the Team, because he has to take care of the whole WTSP as the Project Leader. )

(5) We should get good introductions of sites described by the site owners themselves for the sites (◎○□) to be included in the World WTSP Catalogs.

We can start this job promptly because we already have the Japan Part (2019 Edition) where all the sites are shown with their evaluation grades.
For the ◎○□ sites, the Site description in WTSP Standard Form (1 page in A4) is mandatory.
For the ◎○ sites, a closer free-format introduction of the site (2-20 pages in A4) is desirable.
It may be desirable that the persons involved in the ◎○ sites join the WTSP Team.

Please provide these introductions in Japanese and in English.

English texts are needed to include in the World WTSP Catalogs.
Machine translation software (e.g., DeepL) and spell and grammar-checking software (e.g., Grammarly) are useful (and free), but final brushing up must be done by some talented persons.
Japan TRIZ Society has several such talented people.

Whenever a proper/full site introduction (Standard Form (b) + Detailed introduction (c), in English) is submitted (individually or by the Team) to the Project Leader, he will post it in the World Catalogs and will publish it as an independent article in "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" as soon as possible.
--- I have given this promise to all the TRIZ-related site owners in the world.

(6) Next, we should visit (through the Internet or directly contact the site owners) the sites of the current Japan Part individually to learn the current status and contents and to make necessary revisions and updates.

In addition, we should gather information for finding new sites and post them on Japan Part of World WTSP Catalogs..

We also need to (re-)evaluate all the websites (both present and new ones) and set the evaluation in the grades (◎○□△ー).

Please refer to our evaluation criteria at Slide #6 of   .
I know that evaluating the sites operated by other experts is a burden everyone (even an expert) wants to avoid.  However, a Catalog containing good and poor items shown without evaluation is useless.  Users want well-selected documents.
If a person wants a higher rating for his site, the site owner should submit a proper site introduction to the WTSP team.  (Then the Team and the site owner may be able to discuss its evaluation.)

(7) Around-TRIZ sites are not included among the urgent tasks (by the end of April).  They are to be handled later (for example, by the end of Mar. 2024).

(8) The results of activities (4), (5), and (6) should be made in the form of a manuscript for the Japan Part of World WTSP Catalogs and submitted to the Project Leader (Nakagawa).

Nakagawa will compile the manuscripts from many Country Teams and prepare the Gamma Edition of the World WTSP Catalogue of TRIZ Sites. .

(9) The schedule for carrying out the above process is quite tight.  Namely:

(4) Formation of WTSP Team: --- End of Jan. (or mid-Feb.)
(5) Descriptions of Site introduction by the site owners (Japanese and English): --- End of Mar.
(6) Site additions and updates: --- End of Mar.
(8) Submission of Japan Part of World WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites (in English): --- Mid-Apr.
→ WTSP Paper submission to ETRIA TFC2023 (Nakagawa et al.): --- End of Apr.
→ Presentation application to Japan TRIZ Symposium, on Japan Part of World WTSP Catalogs (Japan Team + Nakagawa): --- Mid-May
→ Compilation of the World WTSP Catalogs (Nakagawa): ---  End of Jul.
→ Presentatipn at Japan TRIZ Symposium (Japan Team + Nakagawa): --- Early Sept.
→ Presentation at ETRIA TFC2023  (Nakagawa et al.): --- Mid-Sept.

(10) This year 2023, the sixth year of WTSP, we are going to work together in many countries to achieve the same goal as (9) above.

The major difficulty in the WTSP activities in the world has been the lack of voluntary activities in many countries.
If Japan could form Japan WTSP Team and start its activities promptly, it would be a great boost.

"As we begin to receive Useful and Attractive manuscripts, the world will start to recognize the Usefulness and Attractiveness of the WTSP Catalogs, and then, Useful and Attractive WTSP Catalogs will be created actually."
--- This process is the same for any product, service, or business.

I sincerely hope that the TRIZ community in Japan becomes one of the first runners of this movement.

This will surely contribute to the promotion of TRIZ in Japan.

Thanking you very much for your activities and your support to us.

I wish you all good health and success in your endeavors.

WTSP Project:  Call for Contributions to the World WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites

TN  ==>  LinkedIn   (especially 'TRIZ and Innovation' Group)     Jan. 25, 2023

Call for Contributions to the WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites in the World (Gamma Edition, Sept. 2023). Country Manuscripts by Apr. 16.

Toru Nakagawa (WTSP Project Leader, Osaka Gakuin University)

"TRIZ Home Page in Japan" was updated on Dec. 31, Jan. 17, and Jan. 23.  A large number of recent communications from the Project Leader (TN) to WTSP Members and supporters and vice versa are posted on new pages of WTSP Communication Forum

We have decided to build the "Gamma Edition of the WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites in the World" and report it at the ETRIA TFC2023 (to be held on Sept. 12-14, 2023, in Coburg, Germany).

As we reported last year at TFC2022, our WTSP Catalogs are still unbalanced and insufficient for TRIZ sites, in contrast to the fact being reasonably balanced and well introduced for Around-TRIZ sites.

Thus in 2023, the sixth year of WTSP, we are going to endeavor to enhance and improve the Catalogs of TRIZ sites by getting the collaboration of many people in the TRIZ community over the world.

The call for your contributions is shown in the Top Figure in two points.

(1) Manuscripts of Country Parts of World WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites are the main route.

In each country, please form a WTSP Team of (several) volunteers and assign the coordinator(s), i.e. WTSP Country Editor(s).

Then list up good websites in the field of TRIZ (in a wider sense) by Internet surveys and members' recommendations. Visiting the websites, please write brief introductions to them one by one and evaluate them according to the WTSP Evaluation Criteria. Evaluation is a delicate job, which can best be done through a group discussion in the Team.

For the websites evaluated as ◎, ○, or □ (i.e., to be included in the World Catalogs), please ask the site owners to describe their own site in the WTSP Standard Form (1 page in A4).

Make a Manuscript of your Country Part of the World WTSP Catalogs, by arranging all the ◎○□ sites in the WTSP way of categorization, and submit it to the Project Leader, by April 16.

(2) Full Introduction of Individual TRIZ Website is an additional/direct route open for any owner of sites evaluated as ◎ or ○.

Site owners are encouraged to write a close/detailed introduction of their own site in a free format in 2 to 20+ pages where tables, figures, photos, etc. may be used.  It should be submitted to the Country Team and also to the Project Leader directly, by June 30.

Whenever an appropriate full introduction (i.e., Standard Form + close introduction) is submitted to the Project Leader, he will include it in the World WTSP Catalogs and post it as an independent article in "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".

Project Leader will then compile many Manuscripts of Country Parts and submit a WTSP paper to TFC2023 by the end of April. Integrating many Country Parts and Full introductions of individual sites into the WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites in the World will be carried out by the end of July. And the Gamma Edition of the World WTSP Catalogs will be published by the end of August. -- This is our schedule.

In the (new) WTSP Forum pages, you can read the recent progress of WTSP, especially communications from TN to TRIZ leaders in Italy, France, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan. Such pages may be useful for you as pioneering sample cases.

The situations of WTSP Teams in these TRIZ-active countries are slightly different from one another. But they are essentially at the same initial stage of struggling to get volunteers and form their WTSP Team. All the countries in the world, both mature/active in TRIZ and emerging in TRIZ, are at the same initial stage of forming WTSP Teams in their countries.

For more information on building WTSP Catalogs, please read various pages in the WTSP website inside "TRIZ Home Page in Japan". A brief list of such references may be seen in TN's message to TRIZ leaders in Japan.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact TN or any other WTSP Global Co-editors.

Looking forward to your collaboration and contributions. Let's work Together ! Connected !!
